The long-rumored Canon EOS 7D Mark III was finally cancelled. The 7D2 may become a swan song, and it will be replaced by a new EOS R that is about to be launched. It seems that Canon has put a lot of effort into the research and development of the RF mount, and is willing to cut the development of SLR to promote mirrorless products.

If the Canon EOS 7D Mark III is cancelled, the EOS 80D in the SLR line will be upgraded in product positioning, gradually moving closer to the high-end market, taking care of both consumer-level APS-C users and professional-level APS-C users. This is undoubtedly a compromise, and I hope Canon will find a way that is more suitable for the current camera market.
