Clive Cawse, Vice President of Operations at Geotab, said: “Our GO5 device provides a comprehensive, standalone solution for vehicle tracking, incident analysis and reconstruction, with advanced over-the-air (OTA) capabilities. Geotab uses u-blox’s AssistNow assisted-GPS service, with satellite orbit data acquired by the LEON GSM module and then transmitted to the u-blox NEO GPS module, enabling fast GPS acquisition even when the vehicle is parked indoors or in urban environments. GO5 features also include remote configuration of accelerometer sensitivity, and high-precision data recording of automatic transmission details for incident analysis and reconstruction purposes.”
Huub Robroek, Account Manager at u-blox, says: “GO5 is one of the most advanced vehicle tracking solutions on the market in terms of functionality, size and ease of use. It is the result of a collaborative effort between our two leading embedded positioning solutions companies. We are very pleased with it and we are sure that our end users will be too.”
The GO5 terminal integrates seamlessly with Geotab's server-based Checkmate™ 5.5 and free web-based MyGeotab™ 5.5 fleet management software, providing fleet managers with a comprehensive view of their operations. Other features include a patented algorithm that records trip details and maintains a high-precision data log, which can be used for traffic incident analysis and reconstruction. The GO5 terminal also supports wireless firmware upgrades for customer-specific needs or applications.
