In order to enhance the safety of faulty vehicles when they are parked on the roadside waiting for rescue, it is said that Tesla's electric vehicles will be the first to introduce a faulty vehicle warning system called "HELP". This makes it easier for other moving vehicles to notice the disabled vehicle parked on the roadside. Moreover, Tesla electric vehicles can have this "HELP" fault vehicle warning system through OTA remote wireless software update.
HELP is the abbreviation of Hazard Enhanced Location Protocol. This faulty vehicle warning system was developed by Emergency Safety Solutions, Inc. (that is, the company ESS). Reports indicate that Tesla and ESS have signed a cooperation agreement, making Tesla the first passenger car brand to adopt the HELP fault vehicle warning system.
HELP adopts a multi-pronged approach to prevent malfunctioning vehicles parked on the roadside from being rear-ended and collided further, including increasing the update frequency of vehicle warning lights and making vehicle warning lights more conspicuous. At the same time, the system will also send a message through the cellular communication system to nearby vehicles, and notify the navigation system of nearby vehicles that there is a faulty vehicle ahead, thereby avoiding further rear-end collisions.
ESS points out that in the United States alone, more than 72,000 people are involved in malfunctioning vehicle accidents every year, and as many as 15,000 of them are injured or killed as a result. By being equipped with the HELP breakdown vehicle warning system, it is expected that casualties in breakdown vehicle accidents will be significantly reduced. It is understood that the HELP faulty vehicle warning system will initially be implemented in North America through OTA, and will later be expanded to other parts of the world.
Those who drive frequently should know that my country's traffic laws also require the use of warning tripods, and this regulation is nothing more than to reduce the occurrence of secondary accidents in the future. However, the HELP faulty vehicle warning system also has disadvantages. When an accident occurs and the vehicle is powered off, the HELP faulty vehicle warning system cannot be activated!
