High five! Ideal Auto's flagship SUV L9 in-car display uses Macroblock backlight driver chip
(September 1, 2022) In the summer of 2022, the Chinese independent automobile brand "Lixiang" released its flagship SUV-L9, targeting the same market as BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS, with "intelligence" running through the design concept. Macroblock Technology is honored to be a part of the Lixiang L9 supply chain and work together to create a model for the application of high-end in-vehicle displays.

Smart cockpit with brand new design - HUD head-up display system with mini-LED safe driving interactive screen
Ideal L9 implements a simple design concept in the driver's seat, replacing the dashboard with a HUD head-up display system and a safe driving interactive screen. The driving information required by the driver is projected onto the front windshield through the HUD head-up display system, so the driver no longer needs to take his eyes off the road, increasing overall driving safety. The matching safe driving interactive screen is located above the steering wheel. Ideal L9 uses a polymer chip to drive the mini-LED backlight panel, and achieves a high number of partitions through its scanning architecture, so that the safe driving interactive screen has high brightness and high contrast. It can not only clearly display important driving information (speed, battery power, and cruising range) in the sun, but also the screen will not be too bright to affect driving vision at night. The touch-screen control method makes dual-screen interaction easier.

Macroblock Technology Car Display-Mini-LED Backlight Driver Chip Solution
According to LEDinside's 2022 automotive analysis report, the estimated shipment of automotive panels will reach 185 million pieces in 2022 and 241 million pieces in 2026. In response to the booming automotive display market, NVIDIA's automotive driver chips can help achieve the high brightness, safety, long life cycle, and HDR support required by mini-LED automotive backlight displays. They have also passed the relevant automotive international certifications AEC-Q100 Grade 1 and ASIL A/B . Brand car manufacturers can flexibly select according to the display specifications, helping in-car displays to meet the strong growth period brought by smart cars and new energy vehicles.
