Despite Apple's complete confidentiality, almost all details of the rumored Apple electric car have not been officially confirmed, nor denied. The latest news indicates that two more manufacturers have joined the race for Apple's electric car. Rumor has it that Apple's two existing partners, Foxconn and Luxshare Precision, are considered very reliable candidates for Apple's first electric car contract manufacturing agreement.
Given the smooth progress of Apple's electric car development, Cupertino-based Apple is considering selecting partners for urgent production work. Foxconn and Luxshare Precision were selected in large part because both manufacturers are investing in infrastructure for electric car production. Among them, Foxconn hopes to produce electric cars in a factory in North America, while Luxshare Precision is working with Chery Group to specialize in zero-emission vehicles.
However, there are always two sides to a story. The rumored Foxconn and Luxshare Precision are definitely not the definite answer, and either of them will eventually take over the production of Apple's electric car. Previously, there were also rumors that Magna and LG's joint venture was already in the lead in the production of Apple's electric car. Apple has also discussed partnerships with several traditional automakers, including Hyundai, but each negotiation ended abruptly. Hyundai was once keen to sign an agreement with Apple, but it did not happen in the end.
Apple has always been committed to preventing leaks of future products in advance, so we should also treat all rumors with suspicion when choosing a foundry manufacturer. However, it is almost certain that Apple's electric car will be put on the market before 2025, and the test prototype will likely be on the road in 2023, but don't expect to see it on public roads, because Apple is likely to keep every little detail secret until the last minute.
