Renesas announced that its popular R-Car system-on-chip (SoC) has been expanded to a new product series - R-Car Gen3e.
The new products expand the popular R-Car Gen3 series SoC product line, with CPU performance increased to 50k DMIPS and 2GHz speed, helping automakers meet the ever-increasing needs of user experience, network security and functional safety. For example, higher CPU performance - the frequency of R-Car M3Ne, R-Car M3e and R-Car H3e products can reach up to 2GHz; on-chip real-time Arm® Cortex® R7 CPU, no external vehicle controller is required to match Renesas PMIC; shorten development time with reference solutions for fast startup, HMI and functional safety; board support kits configured with the latest versions of Linux and Android operating systems, etc.
The new SoC family features six new products, creating a scalable lineup for entry- to mid-range automotive applications that require high-quality graphics rendering, such as integrated cockpit domain controllers, in-vehicle infotainment (IVI), digital instrument clusters, driver monitoring systems and LED matrix lights.
