Recently, at the 2021 Work Mobilization Meeting of Suzhou Industrial Park, Bosch announced an investment of 360 million yuan to expand its microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensor testing project in Suzhou.
Among them, an additional 120 million yuan will be used for laboratory research and development investment. After the expansion, the total area of the dust-free workshop will reach 3,100 square meters. After reaching full production, the annual sales are expected to increase by 3 billion yuan, and the annual import and export trade volume will be 10 billion yuan.
MEMS sensor test clean room
It is understood that MEMS sensors are a key technology in the field of mobility and interconnection, and are widely used in vehicle dynamics systems, airbag systems, active suspension systems, vehicle comfort systems, engine management systems, seat comfort systems, and transmission control systems.
Since the successful development of MEMS processing technology in 1998, Bosch has also been actively promoting the production and application of MEMS sensors, and has successively expanded key products such as SMI130 and SMI700. It is reported that Bosch has produced more than 10 billion MEMS sensors to date.
In China, Bosch has also been actively promoting its corresponding layout. In 2013, Bosch decided to establish a sensor testing center in Suzhou, which is Bosch's first semiconductor testing center outside of Europe and one of the most important layouts of Bosch's semiconductor business in the world.
As the business grows, the test categories of Bosch Suzhou Sensor Testing Center have expanded from consumer sensors to automotive sensors. While vigorously expanding its business, the center actively promotes intelligent production and has been awarded the title of National Intelligent Manufacturing Benchmark Enterprise and Jiangsu Province Intelligent Demonstration Workshop. At present, with rich production experience and mature production technology, Bosch has become a world-leading MEMS manufacturer.
