Since the first radio was installed in the car, people's expectations for cars are no longer limited to travel, but have given them more missions. Now, with the rapid development of intelligent technology, cars have become a mobile intelligent device. AI assistants, language recognition, automatic driving, intelligent interconnection, and other technological devices that have emerged in recent years have repeatedly changed people's understanding of smart cars and raised people's expectations for smart travel to an unprecedented level.

"Smart cars" have been widely regarded by the industry as the next new track. Take Tesla as an example. From the beginning of the year to now, the stock price has risen by more than 300%, firmly sitting on the throne of the world's largest automaker by market value. The core driving force behind its stock price increase is not how long Tesla's range is or whether it is profitable in the short term, but the technical barriers that Tesla has erected, mainly smart cars, which is an important reason why it is favored by the capital market.

The same is true for new domestic car manufacturers. Xiaopeng Motors has just announced the completion of its C+ round of financing, with participation from well-known investment institutions such as Aspex, Coatue, Hillhouse Capital and Sequoia China, with a financing amount of nearly US$500 million. In the flood year of 2020, capital has become more rational, but Xiaopeng Motors has still won the recognition of a large number of investors with strong capital. The main reason is that Xiaopeng Motors has firmly grasped the track of intelligence, used its intelligence advantages to achieve product differentiation and breakthrough, and its market potential has been recognized.

In addition to the capital market's optimism about intelligent connected vehicles, the national policy level is also positive. In February this year, 11 ministries and commissions including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued the "Intelligent Vehicle Innovation and Development Strategy", which clarified my country's strategic vision and main tasks for the development of intelligent vehicles.

With the dual benefits of capital policy, there is an extremely broad space for development. According to the "2020 China Internet of Vehicles Industry Market Prospects and Investment Research Report" released by the China Business Industry Research Institute, by 2020, the market size of my country's Internet of Vehicles industry will exceed 200 billion yuan; the market size of my country's intelligent networked vehicles can reach more than 100 billion yuan. Mo Wei, deputy director and secretary-general of the Electronic Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that according to forecasts, intelligent networked vehicles will usher in 20 years of rapid development, and by 2035, they will account for about 25% of the global new car market.

As the scale gradually grows, it will also bring great development opportunities to upstream and downstream suppliers. The intelligent connected vehicle industry chain is long, with its upstream covering key systems such as perception, control, and execution; the midstream covering integrated systems such as smart cockpits, autonomous driving solutions, and intelligent connected vehicles; and the downstream covering application services such as travel services and logistics services. No matter which link, there are thousands of opportunities.

Therefore, the intelligent connected car industry is also considered to be the industry with the most room for imagination in the next 20 years. Whether it is the market size or the ability to drive the development of the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, it is now well-deserved to be the only one. However, opportunities and risks always coexist. How to cope with various changes and grasp the development trend of intelligent cars under the premise of rapid changes in the market and technology has become a point that companies need to focus on.

From August 14 to 16, 2020, the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center will host the 8th China International Electronic Information Fair. As a key core content, the intelligent connected vehicle sector will focus on displaying active safety and intelligent assisted driving systems at CITE2020. By then, major companies will gather together to analyze forward-looking technologies in the Internet of Vehicles, discuss the construction of an intelligent connected vehicle ecosystem, cultivate new industrial formats, build new competitive advantages, and occupy strategic commanding heights. Including Tencent's Wutong AutoLink, Alibaba's investment in Fuxin Futong, and Huawei's layout in autonomous driving standards will participate and display at this Expo to varying degrees.

Although Tencent's Wutong Autolink is a company jointly funded by Tencent and Changan, its initial purpose was to serve the entire industry rather than becoming Changan's exclusive auto service provider. It can provide companies with a complete "ecological Internet of Vehicles" operating system solution. Its TINNOVE OS has built three core capabilities: fun, connection, and AI by deeply integrating the basic capabilities of Tencent Autolink with Tencent's core ecological resources. It is reported that TINNOVE OS will usher in a major upgrade in the second half of this year. After the upgrade, its architecture will be more open and more adaptable. As for whether it will appear at this Electric Expo, everyone can look forward to it.

Compared with Wutong Autolink, Fuxin Futong may be less well-known. It is a high-tech enterprise invested by the Internet giant Alibaba, dedicated to the research and development and application of related products such as intelligent transportation, Internet of Vehicles, big data mining, and Beidou technology applications. Its independently developed ASCS active safety intelligent prevention and control management system is based on Beidou/GPS satellite positioning technology, GIS geographic information technology, timed or timely snapshots, real-time GPS location and trajectory query display and other advanced technologies to escort the safe travel and intelligent management of commercial vehicles such as buses, passenger vehicles, taxis, and online car-hailing. At the same time, the system won the honor of "Top Ten Active Safety Intelligent Prevention and Control Platforms in China in 2019", demonstrating its strong R&D strength.

As a giant in the communications industry, Huawei once said that it would not build cars, but it has been making continuous moves in the field of autonomous driving. First, it was revealed that the kernel of its autonomous driving operating system successfully obtained the highest level of functional safety certification in the industry's safety field, becoming the first operating system kernel in China to obtain ASIL-D certification. Then, it was recently revealed that it had applied for an autonomous driving patent. The abstract of the patent is: Determine the autonomous driving strategy based on the user's historical driving behavior data and current environmental data to achieve safe driving. Huawei's achievements in the field of autonomous driving have made it an important technology company that cannot be ignored in the field of autonomous driving.

It is worth noting that while the 8th China Electronic Information Expo is being held, the Internet of Vehicles Conference will also be held in the Jasmine Hall on the sixth floor of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from the 14th to the 15th. It will combine 5G, autonomous driving, Beidou satellite navigation, active safety, road transport informatization and other contents, and echo the content of the exhibition area to form an exhibition and conference platform for the integration and innovation of the entire industry of government, industry, academia, research and application.

In summary:

The intelligence of automobiles has become an unstoppable trend. How to find one's own development path in the fierce competition has become a question that all companies must think about. The launch of the 8th China Information Technology Expo will provide a large platform for intelligent connected automobile companies and surrounding technology companies to showcase the latest generation of technologies with friendly exchanges and mutual benefit and win-win attributes, which will be conducive to breakthroughs in the industry's core technologies and jointly promote China's intelligent vehicles to the forefront of the world.
