ADAS solutions powered by automotive-grade AI chips and efficient algorithms

Based on China's first automotive-grade AI chip, the Journey II, Horizon Robotics has launched a single-sided forward-looking ADAS solution for the global market. The solution can effectively detect and identify nearly 100 types of targets in six categories, including vehicles, pedestrians, road lines, traffic signs, license plates, and traffic lights, within a 100-millisecond delay. In addition, Horizon Robotics' single-sided forward-looking ADAS solution is also optimized specifically for Chinese roads and scenarios, safeguarding the development of partners in the world's largest automotive market.

In the center of the booth, Horizon Robotics focused on displaying ADAS solutions based on the Journey 2 chip and a series of enabling results, including cooperation plans with many top Tier 1s and OEMs such as Continental, SK Telecom, Freetech, and Inbo Supercomputing, some of which are expected to achieve pre-installed mass production in 2020. From providing system reference solutions, to fully opening up perception results, to full-stack solutions for the tool chain, Horizon Robotics is providing different levels of product delivery and services based on the different needs of customers for the Journey 2 chip, fully empowering the intelligent upgrade of the automotive industry with in-depth, multi-dimensional and fully open services.

Horizon’s Matrix™️2 autonomous driving computing platform made its public debut

Compared with the previous generation, Matrix 2 is equipped with 16TOPS of equivalent computing power, while its power consumption is only 2/3 of the original. In terms of perception, Matrix 2 can support multi-sensor perception and fusion including cameras, lidar, etc., and achieve up to 23 types of semantic segmentation and five types of target detection with low latency. It is worth mentioning that the perception algorithm implemented by Horizon on Matrix 2 can cope with complex environments and output stable perception results even in special scenarios or extreme weather conditions.

Currently, in the autonomous driving market, which is numbering in the hundreds, Horizon Robotics' Matrix-enabled autonomous driving vehicles have reached nearly 1,000. With the launch of Matrix 2, Horizon Robotics' scale and share in the autonomous driving market will further increase.

Technological first-mover advantage drives the commercialization of intelligent driving

With the mass production of China's first automotive-grade AI chip, Journey II, Horizon Robotics has made great strides in the commercialization of intelligent driving. At this CES, Horizon Robotics and its partners jointly demonstrated the edge AI "core" ecosystem, showing the audience a number of cooperative implementation solutions such as ADAS, autonomous driving, crowdsourced high-precision maps, and in-car multi-mode interaction enabled by Journey II.

Horizon Intelligent Driving "Core" Ecosystem

At present, Horizon Robotics' ADAS, autonomous driving and multi-mode interaction businesses are all in the leading echelon, and it is one of the few AI companies in China that has achieved large revenues. In 2019, a key year for commercialization, Horizon Robotics' intelligent driving business received orders of hundreds of millions of yuan. As more projects are gradually implemented, it is expected that the number of fixed-point projects will reach double digits by 2020, and the annual shipment volume of Journey series chips will reach one million in 2022.

The technological first-mover advantage promotes the commercialization process and provides a continuous source of momentum for Horizon to empower real-world scenarios. In the field of in-vehicle AI chips, which is recognized as a hard technology and a long-term innovation, Horizon will continue to innovate. It is expected that within this year, Horizon will successively launch a new generation of automotive-grade AI chips, injecting new potential energy into accelerating the implementation of autonomous driving.
