According to foreign media reports, Trimble has released Trimble® RTX Auto, a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) software library built for safety-critical automotive applications. The RTX Auto software library can be integrated with any GNSS device and can decode Trimble's leading RTX centimeter-level absolute positioning accuracy correction stream. RTX Auto works in parallel with other on-board sensors to provide positioning solutions that meet the requirements of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving.

RTX Auto is Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) and Automotive Software Process Improvement and Capability Determination (ASPICE) certified, demonstrating that Trimble RTX Auto can meet the functional safety requirements of the automotive industry for ADAS and autonomous applications.

“For over 35 years, Trimble has been at the forefront of positioning innovation that improves productivity for our users,” said Patricia Boothe, vice president of Trimble’s Advanced Positioning Division. “RTX Auto applies our leading technology to functional safety applications and will enable the automotive industry to leverage Trimble’s leading RTX correction technology. Trimble RTX technology is safely advancing autonomous vehicles and changing the way the world drives.”

While other correction service providers are only validating their ADAS positioning products and services in test environments, Trimble is providing absolutely accurate positioning based on RTX for the industry’s first true highway autonomous driving system, GM’s Super Cruise.
