During this year's National Day holiday, the number of electric vehicle trips on highways reached a new high, and the level of charging service guarantee was further improved.

In order to ensure charging service guarantee on highways during major holidays, the National Energy Administration organized relevant parties to use information platforms to strengthen monitoring, guide localities to add temporary charging equipment, assign additional guidance personnel, and carry out equipment maintenance in advance, effectively ensuring the charging needs of large-scale new energy vehicles during the "National Day" period this year.

Through the statistical analysis of 24,400 highway charging piles included in the national charging facility monitoring service platform, from 0:00 on October 1 to 24:00 on October 7, the number of charging times of electric vehicles on highways totaled 3.1 million times, the charging volume reached 72.1527 million kWh, and the average daily charging volume was 10.3075 million kWh, which is 2.4 times that of weekdays this year, an increase of 34% over the average daily volume during the May Day holiday this year, and an increase of 80% over the average daily volume during the National Day holiday last year, setting a new record. Local governments organized relevant enterprises to actively deploy and take multiple measures, and the charging service guarantee capacity of new energy vehicles during the National Day holiday was further improved.

In the next step, the National Energy Administration will work with relevant parties to further implement the work requirements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, strengthen the construction of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and continue to ensure the charging needs of new energy vehicles during major holidays.
