On July 29, 17 departments including the Shandong Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Shandong Provincial Energy Bureau jointly issued a document and jointly issued the "Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the High-Quality Development of the New Energy Storage Industry."
The document proposes:
By 2025, the province's new energy storage industry will generate revenue of 250 billion yuan; by 2030, the industry will be further expanded and its competitiveness will be among the best in the country.
Cultivate the liquid flow battery industry. Focus on breakthroughs in low-cost, high-efficiency liquid flow battery energy storage technology, support the development of multiple technology routes, focus on accelerating the large-scale mass production of hydrochloric acid-based all-vanadium liquid flow batteries, and promote the gradual pilot production of iron-chromium liquid flow batteries and zinc-iron liquid flow batteries. Relying on the basic advantages of our province's chemical and mechanical processing industries, accelerate the research and development of liquid flow battery equipment, and focus on promoting the manufacturing of raw materials and equipment such as battery diaphragms, electrolytes, acid-resistant tanks, plastic-lined pipes, and battery stacks. Accelerate the localization and application of core components such as electromagnetic pumps and precision valves to enhance the supply of complete sets of equipment.
Strengthen the compressed air energy storage industry. On the basis of introducing the equipment production line of China National Energy Storage, petrochemical machinery enterprises in the province are encouraged to extend to the manufacturing of compressed air energy storage equipment, forming a complete set of production capacity for core equipment such as compressors and expanders with a capacity of 100,000 kilowatts and above, as well as auxiliary equipment such as heat storage tanks, pressure vessel pipelines, heat exchangers, and control systems. Support design institutes and other units with corresponding qualifications to give full play to their technical advantages, research and break through the key technologies of compressed air energy storage integration at the 100-megawatt level, form core technologies in expander design, salt cavern well testing, stability assessment, etc., and create a "one-stop" service industry system for consulting and surveying, equipment integration, and construction.
Strengthen the research of cutting-edge technologies. Focus on improving key technologies such as battery cycle life, energy density, and intrinsic safety, and focus on solving difficult problems such as high-performance positive and negative electrodes, ion conductor membranes, thermal composite technology, solid electrolytes, and thermal runaway barrier technologies. Continue to promote research on safety assurance technologies for the entire process, such as monitoring and early warning, emergency response, and prevention of re-ignition, and promote the use of big data systems to achieve remote technical supervision and intelligent control and operation and maintenance. Focusing on the future development of energy storage technology, carry out research on forward-looking electric-electric energy storage technologies such as supercapacitors, gravity energy storage, zinc-bromine flow batteries, sodium salt batteries, and aluminum-ion batteries, as well as research on non-electric energy storage technologies such as molten salt heat storage and solid heat storage.
