At the China Smart PV Spring Order Fair at the end of February, Huawei's new inverter 150K quickly became popular and successfully sold 80,000 units, becoming the biggest highlight of the order fair. Huawei's flagship inverter, which has been on the market for only more than half a year, has indeed performed well.

Stable and reliable, how does the "Hexagonal Warrior" break through?

As the "heart" of photovoltaic power generation, the inverter plays a vital role. It can determine the power generation efficiency, safety, installation and operation and maintenance costs of the power station. For photovoltaic power stations, choosing a suitable inverter is the key.

The "Hexagonal Warrior" that sold 80,000 units at the beginning of 2024 is the new 150K industrial and commercial photovoltaic inverter launched by Huawei in September 2023. It is called the "Hexagonal Warrior" because it is a flagship industrial and commercial inverter product that integrates six major features: more power generation, active safety, long-term reliability, extremely simple operation and maintenance, efficient site construction, and industry friendliness.

The SUN2000-150K-MG0-ZH string inverter is a high-power inverter for industrial and commercial applications developed on the new V6 platform. It is also compatible with a one-to-two optimizer (MERC-1100W/1300W-P) to form an industrial and commercial optimal light solution. The rated output power of this product is 150KW, the maximum power is 165KW, and it is equipped with 7 MPPTs, each of which supports 3 strings and supports a maximum MPPT current input of 48A. It is perfectly compatible with various high-efficiency components, and its performance is becoming more and more outstanding.

At present, the 150K inverter has been put into practical application in Jiangsu Zhenghui Innovation Bureau.

First Heavy Industries Huaye is a manufacturer that specializes in the production of high-strength and high-precision rolling mill rolls. In 2022, the company faced challenges such as government power outages and the inability to ensure continuous production. As a high-energy-consuming electricity user with an annual electricity consumption of 7 million kWh, the company urgently needs to reduce electricity costs at the operational level. Therefore, First Heavy Industries Huaye teamed up with Jiangsu Zhenghui Solar Energy to start deploying green electricity.

Today, First Heavy Industries Huaye has deployed 1.3MW of photovoltaic power on rooftops and factory spaces, generating 1.6 million kWh of electricity annually. This not only ensures the company's continuous production on a daily basis, but also saves the company 23% of its electricity usage, saving 230,000 yuan in electricity bills annually.

As an EMC, Zhenghui Solar Energy estimates that the investment payback period for the entire photovoltaic power station is 6 years. Jiangsu Zhenghui, the construction party, said that Huawei's inverters are highly reliable and truly achieve visual and fine management in operation and maintenance, which greatly saves operation and maintenance costs. The new 150K inverter, as the "masterpiece" of industrial and commercial photovoltaic inverters, will demonstrate dominant performance.

It is not difficult to see that Huawei's smart photovoltaic inverter has received initial recognition from the demand side, which obviously sends a positive signal, and the new product will continue to be further tested by the market.

"Reversal" becomes the king, "ranking first" for eight consecutive years

Under the global trend of carbon neutrality, it has become a consensus that renewable energy will gradually replace fossil energy. The China Photovoltaic Association has proposed that by 2030, renewable energy power generation will account for half of the total, and the global photovoltaic installed capacity will exceed 5,000GW.

It is worth noting that the scale of my country's photovoltaic industry is continuing to expand. The latest data released by the National Energy Administration shows that the new photovoltaic installed capacity in 2023 will reach a new high of 216GW, which means that the total new photovoltaic installed capacity in the past four years will be completed in 2023 alone, far exceeding industry expectations.

Based on the continuous increase in demand for photovoltaic installations, inverters, as an important part of photovoltaic power generation systems, have seen shipments rise year after year. In 2022, global photovoltaic inverter shipments reached 326.6GW, a year-on-year increase of 51.3%; although official data for 2023 has not yet been released, S&P Global estimates that global photovoltaic inverter shipments will grow to 381.4GW in 2023.

So, who is the big seller of inverters?

According to the 2022 Global Inverter Market Share Top 10 list released by Wood Mackenzie, Chinese inverter companies occupy 7 seats, and the most eye-catching is that Huawei ranks first in the list, and its market share has increased from 21% in 2021 to 29% in 2022. It is worth mentioning that Huawei has achieved the first market share for eight consecutive years and is becoming the king of "inverter".

In fact, Huawei has officially entered the "photovoltaic inverter" track for more than ten years. Relying on its technological advantages in the electronic information industry, it has always insisted on technological innovation and led the development of the industry. Overall, the development has mainly experienced the following four key nodes:

Huawei "entered the game" in 2010 and quietly laid out its layout in the photovoltaic inverter industry with its keen sense of smell; "broke through" in 2013, facing various application scenarios in complex environments, Huawei optimized and iterated its products from the principle and technical levels; "made an effort" in 2015, and Huawei's inverter global shipments ranked first for the first time, and it still ranks first today; "miracle" in 2019, Huawei created an industry miracle, and the world's first 100 GW string inverter company was born.

After many years, Huawei's exploration in the energy sector is undoubtedly successful, and its leading smart string inverter has become the mainstream of the market. As for Huawei's smart photovoltaics, it has always emphasized the need to stick to its original aspirations and will continue to deepen its industrial and commercial scenarios in the future, providing customers with more economical and reliable green energy, and helping owners in various industries complete their green and low-carbon transformation.
