1.14 GWh! BYD Energy Storage helps South Africa’s largest photovoltaic energy storage power station operate smoothly

On December 11, 2023, the Kenhardt Power Station, invested and built by the world's leading renewable energy manufacturer and provided with a full set of energy storage equipment by BYD Energy Storage, officially supplied power to the South African national grid. The Kenhardt Power Station is located in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa and is the largest photovoltaic energy storage power station in South Africa.

The Kenhardt power station will provide 150MW of dispatchable electricity to the South African national grid every day, ensuring stable electricity supply for tens of millions of households in South Africa and effectively alleviating the problem of large-scale power outages caused by power shortages. At the same time, the power station can also expand the scale of the transmission network, improve the stability of power supply, and further get rid of South Africa's energy structure's dependence on coal.
