On November 10, the 1MW/1MWh sodium ion energy storage project jointly developed by Chuangyuan Power and PetroChina Dagang Oilfield Power Company was officially launched. The project is located in Tianjin Binhai New Area. After the project is completed and connected to the grid, it will effectively improve the local energy supply structure, improve energy utilization efficiency, and inject new impetus into the sustainable development of Tianjin Binhai New Area.
The energy storage project uses a new type of sodium-ion battery cell, which has the advantages of a wide operating temperature range (the operating temperature range can reach -40-80°C), good safety (sodium is highly active and more prone to self-ablation, avoiding battery short circuit and spontaneous combustion), and high environmental protection (sodium is a widely existing element with relatively abundant resources and can be recycled and reused). At the same time, the construction and operation of mass-produced sodium-ion energy storage has obvious cost advantages compared with other energy storage systems.
After the completion of the sodium-ion energy storage project, it can not only serve as the company's backup emergency power supply to ensure the company's stable production, but also based on Tianjin's peak-valley electricity price difference, through the system EMS digital energy management and control system, adopt a "valley charging and peak discharging" working mode, which can save electricity costs for the company and significantly reduce the company's carbon emissions.
