On September 17, under the guidance of Zaozhuang Municipal People's Government and Shandong Provincial Energy Bureau, Xinwanda's subsidiary Xinwanda Energy Technology, jointly with the Shandong New Energy Industry Association, held an electrochemical energy storage industry development conference with the theme of "Deepening the development of new energy storage and creating a green energy future". At the same time, Xinwanda's new standard 20-foot 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system was officially released.

Energy increased by 35% to unlock the cost reduction code in the 5MWh era

Xinwangda's 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system uses the same large-capacity 314Ah battery cells as the 4.17MWh energy storage system. While maintaining the advantages of 12,000 cycle life and up to 20 years of battery life, the system energy is increased by 35% compared to the current mainstream 20-foot 3.72MWh energy storage system.

Calculating the initial investment cost based on a conventional project capacity of 100MW, the large-capacity standard 20-foot 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system saves 43% of floor space and 26% of cost compared to the mainstream 3.72MWh product, greatly reducing the initial purchase cost of the energy storage system, and the cost reduction effect is prominent.

Strengthen the security line from sub-components to the whole system with multiple safety designs

The 314Ah LFP energy storage battery cell of the Xinwangda 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system adopts a full life cycle safety boundary design, and there is no thermal runaway when the EOL and BOL battery cells rise to 200°C. At the system level, PACK-level fire protection and PACK-level monitoring + directional explosion disposal design are adopted to avoid the spread of thermal runaway and explosion; short-circuit monitoring + early warning during the whole life cycle to achieve active safety; combustible gas emission + explosion relief design complies with NFPA68 and NFPA69 standards to avoid combustion and explosion; the system compartment design achieves water and electricity separation to ensure the normal operation of fire monitoring.

From sub-components to the entire system, Xinwangda's 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system has undergone multiple safety designs, greatly improving the safety performance of energy storage.

Efficient liquid cooling enables extremely simple operation and maintenance and extremely high cost performance

The Xinwangda 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system uses an efficient intelligent liquid-cooled temperature control system, which makes the system-level temperature difference less than 5°C, significantly improves the system temperature consistency, significantly reduces the temperature rise, increases the system cycle life by 10%, and reduces auxiliary power consumption by 20%. With intelligent management, intelligent switching, intelligent protection and other functions, the system can achieve extremely simple operation and maintenance and economic efficiency.

The global simultaneous release of Xinwangda's standard 20-foot 4MWh and 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage systems has become the focus of attention at home and abroad, and will be shipped in batches in the fourth quarter of 2023.

In the future, Sunwoda will continue to focus on innovation in energy storage solutions, provide safer, more efficient and economical electrochemical energy storage solutions for a wider range of energy storage application scenarios, help the world optimize its energy structure and build a new power system, and make more contributions to the realization of the global "dual carbon" goal through practical actions.
