China Energy Storage Network News: On May 27, State Grid Ningxia Electric Power Co., Ltd. organized a promotion meeting for the construction of "Double New" (new power system, new energy consumption system) and research on major scientific and technological projects of the new power system, to tackle the "Key Technology Research on Coordinated Optimization and Dispatching of Coal-fired Power and New Energy Power Generation" project.
On May 19, State Grid Corporation of China held a video conference to sign the responsibility letter for the 2022 special major scientific and technological projects of the State Grid New Power System Science and Technology Research Action Plan, and identified ten key scientific and technological projects. The "Key Technology Research on Coordinated Optimization and Dispatching of Coal-fired Power and New Energy Power Generation" project led by State Grid Ningxia Electric Power is one of them. The project will be carried out from May 2022 to December 2024, and will be jointly carried out by State Grid Ningxia Electric Power, China Electric Power Research Institute, State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, Tsinghua University, North China Electric Power University and other 10 units.
The project is based on the transformation and positioning of coal-fired power under the "dual carbon" goal. By studying the coordinated optimization dispatching methods and technologies of coal-fired power and new energy power generation, it proposes a cross-temporal and spatial complementary optimization method covering multiple types of resources such as coal-fired power, pumped storage, energy storage, and new energy, and establishes a capacity, auxiliary service and other support mechanisms connected to the electric energy market to achieve the coordinated optimization of coal-fired power and new energy power sources. It also builds a three-level coal-fired power and new energy comprehensive regulation and optimized dispatching operation demonstration project of the National Dispatching Center, the Northwest Electric Power Dispatching Center, and the Ningxia Electric Power Dispatching Center. The relevant achievements will enhance the multi-resource regulation and configuration capabilities of the power grid, ease the pressure on the power grid to ensure supply, and promote the consumption of new energy electricity and the advancement of new energy power generation technology.
At present, State Grid Ningxia Electric Power has established a special working group for the implementation of the major scientific and technological project "Research on Key Technologies for Coordinated and Optimal Dispatching of Coal-fired Power and New Energy Power Generation", coordinating project implementation management, technical research and demonstration applications, establishing a coordination meeting mechanism, promptly resolving problems encountered in project promotion, and promoting the application of results.
