After months of continuous research and development, the photovoltaic inverter measurement model built by technicians from Hebei Electric Power Research Institute was completed on April 13 at the Hebei Energy Internet Simulation Modeling and Control Key Laboratory. Through the measured parameters, an accurate model of the Hebei Southern Power Grid can be established to ensure the safe and stable grid-connected operation of new energy.
It is reported that this work requires the use of hardware-in-the-loop real-time simulation technology to carry out dozens of semi-physical tests of photovoltaic inverters under different power, different drop depths, and different fault types. The inverter model parameters are identified based on the test data, and the power system analysis and calculation software is used to perform simulation verification of the same working conditions. The parameters are continuously optimized to ensure that the simulation results are consistent with the test results.
In recent years, with the continuous increase in the penetration rate of new energy, the stability characteristics of the power grid in southern Hebei have undergone profound changes. In order to ensure the safe and reliable power supply of the new power grid structure, it is urgent to conduct large-scale simulation calculations and verification of its relay protection functions on the power grid model. However, the traditional typical calculation model of new energy can no longer accurately reflect its operating characteristics. The photovoltaic inverter measurement model built by Hebei Electric Power Research Institute this time innovatively applies hardware-in-the-loop simulation technology. This technology combines the advantages of physical simulation and digital simulation, and has the characteristics of high fidelity. It can accurately reflect the operating parameters of photovoltaic inverters, ensure the accuracy of simulation calculation results, and ensure the safe and reliable grid-connected power generation of photovoltaic new energy.

In order to accurately grasp the development situation of new energy, Hebei Electric Power Research Institute has proactively strengthened its technical support level for energy transformation, completed the measured modeling of a total of 93 new energy stations in Hebei Southern Power Grid, and based on the measured models, carried out simulation verification of 4 million kilowatts of photovoltaic access to the power grid in eastern Cangzhou and configuration of automatic safety devices for high-proportion wind and solar power generation in western Baoding, etc. Special research has been carried out, improving the simulation accuracy by 30%.
