Solar power and power grid investment surged in January and February

In January and February, investment in solar energy and power grids increased significantly, and the newly installed capacity of solar energy and wind power both increased significantly.

As of the end of February, the installed capacity of power generation in China was about 2.39 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 7.8%. Among them, the installed capacity of wind power was about 330 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 17.5%; the installed capacity of solar power generation was about 320 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 22.7%.

From January to February, the national power generation equipment had an average cumulative utilization of 597 hours, 8 hours less than the same period last year. Among them, nuclear power was 1,195 hours, 48 ​​hours more than the same period last year, and wind power was 323 hours, 96 hours less than the same period last year.

From January to February, the investment in power supply projects of major power generation enterprises nationwide was 47.1 billion yuan, down 1.9% year-on-year, of which hydropower was 12.3 billion yuan, down 19.6% year-on-year; solar power generation was 9.4 billion yuan, up 153.7% year-on-year. Wind power generation was 12.4 billion yuan, down 27.9% year-on-year. The investment in power grid projects was 31.3 billion yuan, up 37.6% year-on-year.

In terms of newly added installed power generation capacity, thermal power and nuclear power both decreased year-on-year; wind power installed capacity was 5.73 million kilowatts, an increase of 2.17 million kilowatts year-on-year; solar power installed capacity was 10.86 million kilowatts, an increase of 7.61 million kilowatts year-on-year.
