China Energy Storage Network News: On December 30, 2021, the Central China Electric Power Auxiliary Service Market, which is operated and organized by the Central China Branch of State Grid Corporation of China, received a notice from Henan Power Grid declaring a peak-shaving demand of 200,000 kilowatts during the off-peak period of 2:00-4:00 on the 31st. 26 market players in the Central China region participated in the bidding for peak-shaving auxiliary services, and 2 market players won the bid. Among them, the energy storage power station of China Grid Hunan Comprehensive Energy Services Co., Ltd. participated for the first time as a new type of market player and successfully won the bid.

From 2:00 to 4:00 on December 31, 2021, six energy storage power stations under State Grid Hunan Integrated Energy Services Co., Ltd., based on the recent clearing results of the Central China Power Peak-Shaving Auxiliary Service Market, assisted the Henan Power Grid in peak-shaving across provinces by charging, providing a maximum of 60,000 kilowatts of peak-shaving power and a cumulative peak-shaving power of 135,000 kilowatt-hours. This was the first time that cross-provincial coordinated interaction of source, grid, load and storage was realized in the central China region under a market-based approach.

In recent years, in order to tap the potential of resources such as energy storage power stations and electric vehicle charging piles to participate in grid regulation, State Grid Central China Branch has actively promoted the construction of a market-based mechanism for coordinated interaction between sources, grids, loads and storage, and urged the Central China Energy Regulatory Bureau to adopt the suggestions and issue the "Market Rules for New Market Players to Participate in Central China Power Peak Shaving Auxiliary Services (Trial)" on November 18, 2021.

After the rules were introduced, the State Grid Central China Branch quickly launched the upgrade and transformation of the technical support system for the Central China power peak-shaving auxiliary service market, formulated a detailed implementation plan, and adopted a "segmented development, segmented testing, and offline simultaneous simulation online" approach. Without affecting the daily operation of the market, it completed the technology development in the shortest time and achieved seamless system switching, which effectively supported the development of cross-provincial coordinated and interactive market-oriented power dispatching work among sources, grids, loads and storage.
