China Energy Storage Network News: Since December 23, a round of cold wave weather has affected the central and eastern regions of China from north to south. The temperature in Central China has dropped significantly, and the power load has continued to rise. From December 24 to 26, the maximum power load of the Central China Power Grid reached 157 million kilowatts, a cumulative increase of 26 million kilowatts in three days, of which Hunan and Jiangxi power grids increased by 8 million and 3.8 million kilowatts respectively, and the power supply is facing great pressure. The Central China Branch of State Grid Corporation of China planned ahead and organized carefully to ensure that the Central China Power Grid smoothly passed the first round of power load peak this winter.

In order to ensure the power supply to the four central China provinces, the Central China Branch of State Grid strengthened the forecast of power load and renewable energy power generation, and organized the provincial power dispatching and control center to add 29 thermal power units with a total capacity of 15.51 million kilowatts in advance; strictly managed the directly dispatched power plants, gave full play to the role of large units, and organized 28 units of 13 directly dispatched thermal power plants to operate in full-time mode to achieve stable and full power generation during peak hours.

State Grid Central China Branch contacted the National Electric Power Dispatching and Control Center of State Grid Corporation of China in advance to strive for cross-regional resources. Recently, it strived to increase the transmission of the Three Gorges, Qi Shao DC and Ya Lake DC, and strived to provide a maximum cross-regional support of 4.6 million kilowatts of electricity. Taking advantage of the enhanced inter-provincial mutual assistance capacity after the Hunan-Jiangxi interconnection, it recently organized Henan and Hubei to provide a maximum of 1.5 million kilowatts of electricity support to Hunan. The AC and DC power reception in Hunan reached 7.6 million kilowatts, a historical high, and supported Jiangxi with 1.7 million kilowatts of electricity, ensuring the power balance in Hunan and Jiangxi regions recently. It gave full play to the peak capacity of hydropower and pumped storage units and the inter-provincial mutual assistance capacity, and organized support for Jiangxi with a maximum of 1.6 million kilowatts of electricity within days.

At the same time, the State Grid Central China Branch also used the intelligent lean dispatching platform to carry out refined flow control, and jointly with the provincial dispatching department carried out channel power receiving capacity calculations to ensure that Hunan and Jiangxi regions could receive the maximum amount of external power.
