Huawei and Sungrow lead the IHS 2020 global inverter rankings

Recently, the well-known research organization IHS Markit released the 2020 global photovoltaic inverter market rankings.

Among them, Chinese company Huawei once again ranked first in the world, followed by Sungrow. However, as Huawei's inverter business withdrew from the US market in 2019, its leading advantage is no longer obvious, and it only leads Sungrow by a slight margin.

SMA and Power Electronics have ranked third and fourth for three consecutive years. It is not easy to achieve such stable results under the offensive of Chinese inverter companies, which also proves the strength of these old companies.

Fimer ranked fifth, a newcomer, has made rapid progress mainly due to its acquisition of ABB's inverter business. TMEIC ranked sixth, mainly due to its high market share in Japan and India, its home market.

The seventh-ranked Solis Technology and the eighth-ranked Growatt are both Chinese companies, and both have achieved rapid development in recent years. Solis Technology, in particular, has been sought after by investors in the secondary market recently, but in terms of the annual sales system, it still has a certain gap with Huawei and Sungrow Power Supply, and is therefore not as good as SMA and Power Electronics.

SolarEdge slipped from fifth to ninth place. This American company seems to have missed the opportunity in the good situation of the US market in 2020. The tenth place is again from my country's Sungrow Electric. Due to the recent popularity of energy storage concepts, it has also been favored by investors in the secondary market. It has applied for a suspension of trading. After sufficient funds, it hopes to stay true to its original aspirations and continue to make great strides in the inverter field!

Judging from the rankings released by IHS Markit, Chinese companies Huawei and Sungrow are still in the leading position. At the same time, Chinese companies occupy 5 places in the top ten, with obvious overall strength advantages, which also shows the strength of my country's photovoltaic industry.
