On April 23, Zhao Qingbo, assistant to the general manager of State Grid Corporation of China, led a research team to our city to investigate the compressed air energy storage peak-shaving power station project. Sun Keqi, general manager of State Grid Shandong Electric Power, Zhang Tao, deputy secretary of the Tai'an Municipal Party Committee and mayor, Li Huamin, secretary general of the municipal government, Ma Baowen, secretary of our municipal party committee, and Yin Yantao, member of the municipal party committee and director of the office, accompanied the research.
Zhao Qingbo and his delegation visited the construction site of the Feicheng Compressed Air Energy Storage Peak-Shaving Power Station Project, listened to the detailed report on the project construction, and fully affirmed the innovative practice of the project in the use of new energy. Zhao Qingbo pointed out that the compressed air energy storage peak-shaving power station project has the advantages of not consuming fossil fuels, not being restricted by geographical factors, long life, no secondary pollution, and high efficiency. It is an innovative practice to promote the conversion of new and old kinetic energy. He hopes that the project party will make full use of the natural advantages of good airtightness and high stability of underground salt caverns, continuously improve technical solutions, speed up project construction, and realize the role of the power station in assisting the power grid to reduce peaks and fill valleys as soon as possible.
Zhang Tao pointed out that the State Grid has long been strongly supporting Tai'an's economic and social development and has made important contributions to it. Tai'an will do its best to provide various services for the project construction and promote the project to be completed as soon as possible. It is hoped that both parties will take this survey as an opportunity to further strengthen communication and exchanges, work together, and jointly promote greater progress in the projects under construction to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
It is understood that the heat storage type advanced compressed air energy storage system used in the compressed air energy storage peak-shaving power station project is currently the most efficient compressed air energy storage system in the world and is at the international leading level. As the first new type of energy storage power station in the country, the compressed air energy storage peak-shaving power station project makes full use of the natural advantages of the good airtightness and high stability of the underground salt caverns in the Economic Development Zone, and uses the advanced heat storage type compressed air energy storage system to achieve the role of assisting the power grid in peak shaving and valley filling. The project started construction in November 2019. At present, the main plant has been completed, and the on-site installation and system integration of compressors, expanders, and generators are underway. It is planned to be completed and put into operation in June 2021. After completion, the project will provide auxiliary services such as peak shaving for the Shandong power grid, enhance the new energy consumption capacity, and promote regional economic and social development.
