The Guohua Dengkou 100MWp photovoltaic sand control and energy storage project of Shenhua New Energy Co., Ltd. is a successful bidding project applied for by Dengkou County in 2020. It plans to invest 513 million yuan to build a photovoltaic power station with an installed capacity of 100MWp and configure a 5MWh energy storage system.

The project started on November 28, 2020. In order to further speed up the construction progress, the spiral pile technology was adopted to ensure that the construction in winter would not be affected. At present, the foundation pouring of the booster station main transformer, 220kV structure, lightning rod, main transformer structure and firewall has been completed; 5 box transformer foundation excavations and 1 pouring have been completed; 40,218 spiral piles have been buried, and a total investment of 182 million yuan has been completed. The overall project is expected to be completed by the end of March 2021 and connected to the grid at full capacity by the end of June.

The project adopts a combination of "sand blocking + sand fixation" to form a three-dimensional wind-proof and sand-control system. While using solar energy resources to generate electricity, it simultaneously implements the Ulan Buh Desert comprehensive management project. The project area has been identified by the Desert Forestry Experimental Center of the Chinese Academy of Forestry as a scientific research and empirical base for sand prevention and control.
