At 12:37 on June 3, with the issuance of the grid-connected dispatch order, the first phase of the Keping Energy Storage Power Station project was successfully put into operation, marking the official grid-connected operation of the region's first photovoltaic energy storage power station.
The Keping Energy Storage Power Station is the first grid-side energy storage power station project in the region and the first energy storage power station officially put into operation in the region. It is used to store the electricity of the China Power Investment Keping Photovoltaic Power Station and connect it to the grid. The final scale of the power station is 16.5 MW/33 MWh, using a lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage system with a storage time of 2 hours. It is built in five phases. The scale of the first phase that has been put into operation is 4 MW/8 MWh, and it is connected to the 35 kV switch station of the 20 MWp-C China Power Investment Keping Phase I Photovoltaic Power Station with a 35 kV line.
"Energy storage power stations can enhance the grid's ability to absorb new energy power generation and load regulation. The construction of the Keping Energy Storage Power Station is like a huge 'power bank', which adds a 'sense of security' to the grid's stable and reliable power supply." said Li Jiankang, director of the dispatching and control center of State Grid Aksu Power Supply Company.
The Keping Energy Storage Power Station Project is the first batch of photovoltaic energy storage joint operation pilot projects on the power generation side of the autonomous region. It is of great significance to promote the consumption of new energy in southern Xinjiang and promote the establishment of the emerging energy storage industry in Xinjiang. State Grid Aksu Power Supply Company will further promote the interactive development of the power grid's source, grid, load and storage, play the leading role of "green power" technology demonstration, and contribute to the implementation of the clean energy development demonstration project for State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. and the realization of the strategic goals of the State Grid in Xinjiang.
