The introduction of the concept of "new infrastructure" has forced a wave of rhythm for charging piles. According to data released by the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Charging Alliance"), as of the end of March this year, the number of public charging piles in the country has reached 542,000, and the data in February was 531,000. The member vehicle companies of the Charging Alliance sampled the vehicle-pile accompanying information of about 1.059 million vehicles, of which 725,000 were equipped with charging facilities. The cumulative number of charging infrastructure in the country is 1.267 million, an increase of 37.6% year-on-year.
It is understood that from April 2019 to March 2020, the average monthly increase in public charging piles was about 13,000. From the perspective of geographical distribution, the regions with the highest number of public charging piles are mainly Jiangsu, Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, etc. The top 10 regions account for 74% of the charging pile construction, showing an obvious head concentration effect. In terms of charging volume, the national charging volume is mainly concentrated in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Beijing, Shanghai and other places. The flow of electricity is mainly dominated by buses, but passenger cars also account for a large proportion.
According to the Charging Alliance, there will be 156,000 new public charging piles in 2020, with a total of 667,000. It is expected that 12,000 new public charging stations will be added in 2020, with a total of 48,000 public charging stations. At present, the car-to-pile ratio is still far lower than the 1:1 ratio planned in the "Guidelines for the Development of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (2015-2020)".
