On December 31, 2019, in the low-voltage distribution room of Chengyan Community, Binhai New Town, Shaoxing, Zhejiang, the substation topology relationship data of two distribution transformers were connected to the cloud-based IoT management platform, marking the completion of the pilot application of the low-voltage distribution scenario of the ubiquitous power Internet of Things smart IoT system of State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Co., Ltd.

The smart IoT system is one of the basic support construction tasks of the State Grid Corporation of China for the ubiquitous power IoT this year. State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power has deployed edge IoT proxy devices in distribution stations, built a unified cloud IoT management platform, and formulated key standards and specifications to promote standardized access of various terminals, and achieve "precise perception, edge intelligence, unified IoT, and co-construction and sharing" for distribution and transformation terminals.

For this pilot application, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power selected the low-voltage distribution substation in the urban community of Shaoxing Binhai New Town, and achieved in-depth perception of the full-link status of "transformer-line-household" and fusion collection of distribution and marketing terminal data by optimizing the on-site networking mode of the substation and deploying a new generation of intelligent distribution and transformation terminals. At the same time, the distribution substation relies on the cloud-based unified IoT management platform to achieve unified terminal access, data collection and operation monitoring management, accumulating practical experience for the intelligent IoT of low-voltage distribution network equipment.

The smart IoT system promotes the extension of data collection to the customer side by connecting things and people and machines. While providing customers with comprehensive energy data management solutions, it can effectively improve the operating efficiency of the power grid in the region. The system deepens the information connection between marketing, distribution and dispatching, improves the comprehensive analysis and judgment capabilities of low-voltage distribution network faults, can timely discover the risks and hidden dangers of distribution network equipment and lines, realize precise management, save operation and maintenance manpower, improve fault repair efficiency and power supply reliability, and solve the problem of operation and maintenance management of the "last mile" of the power grid. At the same time, the system can provide data support for the transformation of distribution network equipment and optimize the allocation of power grid resources.
