Xining, January 2 (Xinhua) -- China State Grid Qinghai Electric Power Company introduced on the 2nd that, supported by ubiquitous power Internet of Things technology, China's key technology research on increasing the distribution network power supply radius in high-altitude areas has made new breakthroughs, solving prominent problems such as large per capita investment and high electricity costs.

Ubiquitous power Internet of Things refers to an intelligent service system that uses modern information technologies such as mobile Internet and artificial intelligence to connect everything in the power system and interact with people and machines.

Ma Lishan, deputy general manager of Golog Power Supply Company of China State Grid Qinghai Electric Power Company, introduced that the technology has been verified on the spot in Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province, effectively reducing the investment in substations and lines during the extension of power grids in remote Tibetan areas of the plateau, shortening the power grid construction period, and solving the problem of high power supply costs in remote Tibetan areas.

Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province, with an average altitude of over 4,000 meters, has a total area of 78,000 square kilometers and a total population of only about 210,000. It is a national-level deep poverty area in China and a typical sparsely populated area.

"For example, in some remote areas, supported by ubiquitous power Internet of Things technology, power supply can be extended through 10 kV lines, which can save the construction of one 35 kV substation and a 35 kV transmission line, saving 38 million yuan in investment." Ma Lishan said that through field verification, the key technology of increasing the power supply radius of the distribution network in high-altitude areas can be extended by more than 2 times and the power supply area can be increased by 3.3 times.

It is understood that during the field verification of this technology, ultra-long distance power supply verification was also carried out to achieve emergency power supply guarantee for areas with weak power grid structure.

Ma Lishan said that this technology has positive significance in helping high-altitude Tibetan areas to overcome poverty, protect the ecological environment, and meet the electricity needs of people in remote and sparsely populated areas. (End)
