“The wind and solar power curtailment rate has dropped from 7.22% in 2017 to 0!”
This is the trial operation data of the Wujiangyuan Wind Farm and Zhongliangzi Photovoltaic Power Station in Guizhou Province from the time they were connected to the regional AGC system master station of Guizhou Power Grid Company on November 5 to the time when the system master station passed the acceptance on November 28.
Recently, the scientific and technological project "Research and Application of Regional Safety Constrained AGC Control Technology Based on Market Mechanism and 'Three Publics' Dispatch" jointly carried out by Guizhou Power Grid Company, Guizhou University and State Grid Nanrui Company successfully passed the acceptance. Guizhou Power Grid has first realized automatic power generation control of new energy plants within the scope of China Southern Power Grid Company.
The success of the project's trial operation and its acceptance are the latest achievements in energy-saving power generation dispatching. While accelerating the transformation of Guizhou's power grid to a more intelligent, efficient, reliable and green direction, it will also help implement Guizhou Province's energy development strategy of "four revolutions and one cooperation" in Guizhou's power grid.
"In the past, the dispatching of new energy sources such as wind power and photovoltaic power was all controlled manually." A dispatcher at the Guizhou Power Dispatching and Control Center said that dispatchers usually analyze the consumption of new energy sources based on power generation plans, combined with power grid trends and load conditions, which inevitably leads to inaccurate calculations. After the system realizes automatic control calculations, it can realize the access of new energy sources more accurately and on a larger scale.
The scientific and technological project was launched in 2018, and it mainly solves two major problems faced by manual dispatching: improving the utilization rate of new energy and ensuring the "three fairness" principles of dispatching.
The project provides an effective technical means for the dispatching end to assist dispatchers in dispatching new energy, breaking the technical bottleneck of coordinated optimization control of new energy and conventional power sources taking into account market mechanisms and regional safety constraints of "three public" dispatching, improving the utilization rate of new energy, promoting the coordinated and efficient use of various energy sources, and effectively reducing the work pressure of dispatchers.
At present, the regional AGC system master station control area is mainly in the western part of Guizhou, where new energy is relatively abundant. In addition to the two new energy plants and stations, Wujiangyuan Wind Farm and Zhongliangzi Photovoltaic Power Station, which have been connected to the system master station control, more than ten new energy plants and stations will be connected in the future.
