On December 9, the comprehensive energy management and control cloud platform of Fu Jen Senior High School in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province was launched, realizing six major functions including energy consumption monitoring and alarm management. It is expected to reduce manpower operation and maintenance costs by 100,000 yuan each year, reduce water and electricity consumption by 15%, and save nearly 150,000 yuan in energy expenditure annually.

Schools can only obtain annual electricity and water consumption after paying electricity and water fees on an annual basis. The lag in information data leads to extensive energy management in schools. Since 2018, Jiangsu Wuxi Power Supply Company has extended its comprehensive energy services to the education system, selected Furen Senior High School, which has a relatively simple energy management model, as a pilot, and built an energy management cloud platform.

Wuxi Power Supply Company installed more than 1,200 smart collectors in 1,066 energy-consuming devices in the school's dormitories, toilets, classrooms, etc., collecting data such as voltage, current, and water flow every 15 minutes, and transmitting it to the energy management and control cloud platform in real time, providing a basis for optimizing energy use plans.

On the same day, Zuo Chen, an operation and maintenance staff member of Furen Senior High School, detected on the screen of the energy management cloud platform in the school's monitoring room that the water flow in the bathroom on the southwest side of the sixth floor of the school's dormitory building did not return to zero during class time. He went to the site to check and found that the water-using equipment was leaking and repaired it in time, reducing the waste of water resources. "The platform can also display the total electricity consumption data of each class and dormitory in real time, and determine whether the classroom is turned on with the 'no-one light'." said Wu Baoping, vice principal of Furen Senior High School.

In addition, the integrated energy management and control cloud platform can also preset intelligent air-conditioning temperature data and remotely control the opening and closing of air conditioners, making it easier to manage energy-consuming equipment in schools.
