The Nongnooch Tropical Botanical Garden Research Center in Chonburi Province, Thailand, announced that they are working with hydrogen electrolyzer manufacturer Enapter to demonstrate hydrogen as an energy storage solution. The 600-acre botanical garden park aims to demonstrate a complete energy system independent of the local power grid and fossil fuels.

The Park’s owner, Mr. Kampon Tansacha, shared his commitment to hydrogen technology when he hosted a related workshop as part of Enapter’s “The Big Thing” Hydrogen Technology Conference on Tuesday, October 8. The hands-on workshop, organized by Enapter, demonstrated how to set up a complete microgrid running on solar energy and using hydrogen-based energy storage.

“To save the future, we have come together to provide the blueprint and knowledge to move us toward zero-emission energy,” said Tansacha. “Green hydrogen is a valuable resource, and experts expect it to play a major role in future energy storage.”

Enapter chairman Sebastian-Justus Schmidt added that the company believes hydrogen is an alternative solution to fossil fuels with great significance for the future of energy and the protection of the planet.

The seminar welcomed participants from all over the world to learn how to build a hydrogen energy system. They reached a consensus on how to use hydrogen as a safer and cleaner alternative energy source and established a solar-hydrogen energy system in the park.

Solar and wind energy are abundant and cheap energy sources. Hydrogen storage technology can store energy for a long time and enhance the potential of renewable energy. More importantly, green hydrogen is carbon-free and can be widely used for other purposes such as transportation, industry and heating.

The world-renowned Nongnooch Tropical Botanical Garden, built by Mr. Kampon Tansacha, is famous for its Prehistoric Botanical Research Center, which was created with the goal of preserving tropical flowers and plants. In addition to its collections, the botanical garden regularly hosts world-renowned horticultural seminars.
