China Energy Storage Network News : On June 3, the Xiamen Municipal Government and State Grid Fujian Electric Power Co., Ltd. signed the "Xiamen Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things Support Smart City Construction Strategic Cooperation Agreement" (hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement"). This is also the first strategic cooperation agreement between a local government in Xiamen Province and a provincial power company to jointly promote the construction of ubiquitous power Internet of Things. The two parties will further jointly build a ubiquitous power Internet of Things on the basis of guiding energy Internet planning and improving a strong smart grid, accelerate the construction of Xiamen's smart city, and provide a powerful "energy engine" for Xiamen to accelerate the construction of a high-quality, high-value, modern and international city.

Xiamen becomes a pilot city

Strive to basically build a ubiquitous power Internet of Things within three years

In March this year, State Grid Corporation of China proposed the new strategic goal of building a "ubiquitous power Internet of Things", which quickly became a hot word in the domestic energy circle and attracted widespread attention and strong expectations from the capital market.

For a long time, State Grid has consistently built and operated a strong and intelligent power grid with ultra-high voltage as the backbone grid and coordinated development of power grids at all levels to meet the people's increasingly diverse service needs.

On this basis, State Grid fully applies modern information technologies and advanced communication technologies such as mobile Internet and artificial intelligence to realize the interconnection of all things and human-computer interaction in all links of the power system, and create a ubiquitous power Internet of Things with comprehensive status perception, efficient information processing, and convenient and flexible application, to comprehensively form an energy Internet ecosystem of co-construction, co-governance and win-win.

The strong smart grid that carries the power flow and the ubiquitous power Internet of Things that carries the data flow complement each other and develop in an integrated manner to form a powerful value creation platform, and together constitute an energy Internet that integrates energy flow, business flow, and data flow.

Last year, Xiamen City launched the urban energy Internet research plan, and the Xiamen power grid has good basic conditions and advanced operation and maintenance management experience. This year, the State Grid selected Xiamen as one of the seven pilot cities to take the lead in carrying out the demonstration construction of ubiquitous power Internet of Things.

The goal of State Grid Fujian Power is to strive to basically build a ubiquitous power Internet of Things within three years, and Xiamen City Energy Internet is one of the three demonstration projects.

Driving the growth of industrial aggregation

Building an energy internet industry ecosystem

According to the Agreement, the two parties will jointly establish the Xiamen Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things Construction Leading Group, establish a regular consultation and key supervision mechanism, and promote and coordinate the resolution of problems existing in the construction of the Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things and the safe operation of the power grid.

In the future, Xiamen's urban development plan will reserve space for the construction of the urban energy Internet. The urban energy Internet will be planned, constructed and put into use simultaneously with urban development, which will more effectively guarantee the safe, coordinated and stable supply of urban energy. The municipal government will also organize relevant industrial units and scientific research institutes to carry out research on new industries and new formats related to the ubiquitous power Internet of Things around new technologies such as big data, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, mobile Internet, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and 5G, adding development momentum to Xiamen's "double 100 billion" industrial chain.

The integration of ubiquitous power Internet of Things into urban infrastructure construction will achieve extensive integration and safe supply of urban comprehensive energy, greatly reduce the "three major pollution sources" of industry, motor vehicles, and dust, promote the construction of green seaports and green airports, and help Xiamen win the three major defense battles for blue sky, clear water, and clean land.

At the same time, the construction of ubiquitous power Internet of Things will find new business growth points for the upstream and downstream industrial chains of power grid companies. Through the integration of technology, business and data, it will drive industrial aggregation and growth, create an energy Internet industry ecosystem, and find new business growth points for the smart city construction industry chain, helping Xiamen's emerging technology industries to achieve "overtaking on curves."

A large number of new technology applications

Use electricity smarter, safer and more economical

A number of ubiquitous power Internet of Things pilot projects will be implemented in Xiamen under the joint promotion of Xiamen City and State Grid Fujian Power, including the construction of a ubiquitous power Internet of Things demonstration zone, as well as the implementation of demonstration projects such as efficient centralized demonstration integrated energy stations, electric vehicle charging infrastructure supervision systems, and a new generation of multifunctional substations.

The demonstration area for the construction of the ubiquitous power Internet of Things is located at the Xiang'an New Airport and the Eastern Sports and Exhibition City (one stadium, two halls, and a new exhibition center). It will refer to the energy use model of Singapore's Marina Bay to build an efficient centralized integrated energy station for cooling and heating. This model has obvious advantages over conventional distributed central air conditioners. It not only has lower operating and maintenance costs and equipment investment costs, but also saves more space, which is conducive to improving the added value of regional buildings and urban landscape.

The waste of resources caused by the disorderly construction of electric vehicle charging stations, the impact on power grid security, and the difficulty for car owners to find charging piles are also expected to be solved through the support of the ubiquitous power Internet of Things. According to the agreement, State Grid Fujian Electric Power will provide technical support for the Xiamen Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Supervision System, build a domestic leading platform, and integrate the city's charging facility data, thereby providing guarantees for the unified planning and standardized management of Xiamen's charging facilities and serving the orderly and healthy development of the charging market.

In the future, a new generation of multifunctional substations is also expected to be implemented in Xiamen. Traditional substations will achieve functional expansion, better balance the development of distributed clean energy in surrounding areas, improve the power supply quality around substations, and provide regional comprehensive energy data services.

In addition, the ubiquitous power Internet of Things intelligent operation and maintenance service demonstration project will also be tried and implemented in Xiamen's hospital electricity consumption, municipal service electricity consumption, communication network electricity consumption and other scenarios. Energy-consuming enterprises can manage power distribution facilities and various electrical equipment in a panoramic and real-time manner, obtain more comprehensive and high-quality energy intelligent operation and maintenance services, and use electricity more intelligently, safely and economically.
