China Energy Storage Network News: Recently, the second phase of the Hunan Power Grid Source-Grid-Load Precision Control System Project successfully passed the factory acceptance. This phase of the project added control substations and control terminals in 8 regions, and expanded the capacity of 5 regions in the first phase (1 main station, 5 substations, and 57 terminals were put into operation in September 2018), adding a total of 8 substations and 139 control terminals. At the same time, 1 energy storage control substation and 3 energy storage control terminals were built. The system consists of the Heling Substation Precision Control Main Station, Precision Control Substation and Precision Control Terminal in a layered and regional structure, with a total load shedding capacity of 1,500MW. After an AC or DC fault occurs in the power grid, the total amount of load to be shelved and the load to be shelved in each region (kW level) are "precisely" calculated, and the conventional 110/35kV load shedding measures are given priority to replace, and 10kV and 380V interruptible loads are "accurately" selected to effectively reduce the scope of power outages. This system, together with the Qi Shao DC receiving-end grid stability control system put into operation earlier, will serve as an important component of the protection of the Central China power grid system, and for the first time realize the coordinated control of multiple resources such as DC, pumped storage units, grid loads, interruptible loads, and energy storage.
This acceptance completed 7 major items, 75 minor items, and a total of 1,550 test items, including single-unit debugging, system joint debugging, and whole group testing. The whole group test results show that from the moment the DC fault occurs, through the Qi Shao DC substation-Qi Shao DC main station-load shedding main station-precision control main station-precision control substation to the precise control terminal exit, the whole group action time is less than 100ms, which fully meets the requirements of power grid safety and stability.
As another major achievement of NARI Relay Protection in the field of system protection, this system acceptance will further enhance the company's ability to implement large-scale source-grid-load precision control systems, which can not only solve the safety and stability problems of large power grids, but also achieve friendly interaction between sources, networks, loads and storage, creating higher economic and social benefits.
