It was recently learned that the first charging station in China of the global oil and gas giant British Petroleum (BP) has been established in Jiading, Shanghai, and is equipped with a 60-kilowatt DC fast charging pile.
It is reported that this charging station is located in Nanxiang Town, Jiading District, Shanghai, and is jointly established and operated by BP China and 66 Fast Charge. The charging station uses ABB Terra 63Z 60kW standard DC fast charging pile, which is compatible with most electric vehicles including the national standard 2015, and has the same power as most charging piles of the State Grid. Users can download the App to realize the charging service, and the power station can charge ten electric vehicles at the same time.
BP is one of the world's leading oil and gas companies, headquartered in London. As early as June 2018, the company acquired Chargemaster, the largest charging service provider in the UK, for 130 million pounds (11.222 billion yuan), and announced that it would first deploy ultra-fast charging piles in its affiliated gas stations in the UK. BP is planning to use its huge global gas station network to gain a foothold in the construction of new energy vehicle energy facilities. 66 Fast Charge is the brand of the urban electric vehicle fast charging network under Jiama Energy Technology Co., Ltd., which was founded in 2015. At present, the company's charging network is concentrated in the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta regions, and plans to build and operate 100 DC supercharging stations in Shanghai within the next two years.
The development of electric vehicles requires the support of charging infrastructure. According to statistics, by the end of 2017, the cumulative number of new energy vehicles in my country reached 1.8 million, accounting for more than 50% of the global market. According to data, my country has built more than 600,000 charging piles, but it is still far from the goal of "building 12,000 charging and swapping stations and 4.8 million charging piles by 2020" proposed by the country in 2015. Therefore, it is imperative to accelerate the construction of the public fast charging market. At present, the traditional refueling time is three and a half minutes, plus the waiting time for refueling and payment is an average of 12 minutes. In comparison, it takes 50 minutes for an electric vehicle to charge from 20% to 90% in fast charging mode. It is expected that by the end of 2020, this time will be shortened to 30 minutes.
