Recently, SMA Solar Technology announced that it will provide equipment including inverters to a 50MW solar project in Minbu, Myanmar.
The German company will supply its Power Station 2000SC, a turnkey system solution with two Sunny Central 1000SC-XT inverters and a medium-voltage solution for grid connection.
Located 500 km northwest of Yangon, the project will be operational in spring 2019 and will provide electricity to the equivalent of 20,000 Myanmar households.
“In northern Myanmar, where the PV project is located, the performance of the inverter capacity in extremely high temperatures is critical,” said SMA North America sales manager and executive vice president of APAC. “Our Sunny Central inverters can meet the nominal power requirements in continuous operation with ambient temperatures up to 40°C.”
“Minbu Solar Park is Myanmar’s first large-scale solar project and we need to work with a reliable partner to ensure its success in terms of performance,” said the director of the new energy department of EPC supplier CTIEC (China Triumph International Engineering Group Corporation).
