China Energy Storage Network: Figures are like a pupil that sees through the regional economy and power development, witnessing the rhythm of Jiangsu's progress.

In the summer of 2017, the Jiangsu power grid dispatched electricity load 11 times to set a new record, and was the first among provincial power grids in the country to break 100 million kilowatts. Subsequently, the winter dispatched electricity load set a new record three times. In the first five months of this year, the growth rate of Jiangsu's total electricity consumption reached 9.29%, an increase of 5.61 percentage points year-on-year. The Jiangsu power grid has always maintained safe and stable operation, and has been operating safely and stably for more than 45 years.

As the most load-intensive and largest provincial power grid in my country, Jiangsu Power Grid supports more than 10% of the country's economy, and supports Jiangsu's every step forward with its strong and intelligent power network.

After the 19th CPC National Congress, State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co., Ltd. closely followed the development strategy of State Grid Corporation in the new era and embarked on a new journey of building a high-end power grid. With the basic characteristics of "structure, equipment, technology, management, quality" and "intelligent and cutting-edge", and the strategic connotation of "strong, intelligent, green, and efficient", Jiangsu Electric Power is leading the transformation of the functional form and technical characteristics of the power grid in the new era, building a new generation of power system, setting up an energy Internet, drawing a radiating power meridian, laying a strong skeleton and smooth meridians for local development, and injecting wings into the transformation of Jiangsu.

Strengthen bones and muscles to move towards high-end and forge a solid grid

"Jiangsu Power Grid should take the advanced national power grids in Europe and America as benchmarks, build a world-class power grid and move towards the international high end." In August 2017, Shu Yinbiao, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of State Grid Corporation of China, expressed his hope for Jiangsu Power to create a new height in power grid construction when he visited Jiangsu. With its eyes set on the world's highest standards for power grid construction, Jiangsu has the confidence and courage from the inside out, as well as the pressure and mission from the outside in.

As early as 2014, Jiangsu Electric Power began to study and practice the construction of a world-class power grid with the core features of "unlimited power, less power outages, and good use of electricity". After years of development, by the end of 2017, Jiangsu Power Grid had built a "one AC and three DC" ultra-high voltage grid, initially formed an ultra-high voltage AC and DC hybrid grid structure, built a "six vertical and five horizontal" 500 kV power grid backbone grid, and the 220 kV power grid was divided into 28 sub-districts. The 110 kV and below distribution network has basically formed a flexible and reliable grid structure, and the power grids at all levels have developed in a coordinated manner.

"The strong grid supports the safe grid connection of 114.57 million kilowatts of generating units in the province, met the province's electricity demand of 580.8 billion kilowatt-hours last year, ensured the smooth delivery of 23.3 million kilowatts of external electricity, and achieved the full absorption of 20.27 million kilowatts of clean energy," said Jiang Yefeng, director of the Control Department of Jiangsu Electric Power Dispatching and Control Center.

The curtain has been raised for high-quality development. The transformation and upgrading of Jiangsu's regional economy has shown strong momentum, driving the total electricity consumption to increase by more than 6% for two consecutive years. As a province with a strong economy, high energy consumption, and small resources, Jiangsu urgently needs to introduce more electricity from outside the province, increase the supply of clean energy within the province, and promote the transformation of the regional energy structure to a clean and low-carbon one.

Entering a new era, Jiangsu Electric Power, which has always adhered to the implementation of the "vanguard" strategy, has extended its sights to the future. The Jiangsu power grid development plan has been adjusted accordingly, and "high-end power grid" has become Jiangsu's new strategic goal and positioning for achieving high-quality development of the power grid.

"From world-class to international high-end, what has changed is the richer connotation of power grid development, the power grid development goal path that is more adapted to the characteristics and needs of Jiangsu's economic development, and a more forward-looking and systematic development plan." said Cheng Liang, deputy director of the Jiangsu Electric Power Development Planning Department, who participated in the entire process of Jiangsu's high-end power grid planning and design.

At present, the "Jiangsu Power Grid Development Rolling Plan" by 2025 has been completed. Entering the era of ultra-high voltage, large power grid and high load, the construction of Jiangsu's high-end power grid has been compact and steady. The picture of high-quality development of my country's power grid is becoming a reality in Jiangsu.

"This year, the Baihetan-Jiangsu UHV DC project will be approved for construction, and the Shaanxi Binchang DC project to Jiangsu will also be launched at the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan. By October 2019, the UHV Sutong GIL pipeline corridor will be completed and put into operation, and the East China 1,000 kV AC UHV ring network will be officially formed. By 2020, Jiangsu's 500 kV power grid will form a 'six vertical and seven horizontal' pattern, and the region's out-of-region power acceptance capacity will reach about 37 million kilowatts." Cheng Liang introduced.

A nine-story tower starts with a pile of earth. By forging a huge and strong power grid skeleton, Jiangsu Electric Power has laid a solid foundation for building a new generation of power system and realizing energy interconnection.

Jingmai Tongda aims at first-class and forges modern distribution network

"The demonstration area has a power supply reliability rate of 99.999%, and the average annual power outage time is less than 5 minutes. Both indicators have reached world-class levels." On November 15 last year, the Taizhou National Pharmaceutical High-tech Industrial Park in Jiangsu welcomed a new batch of companies. Jia Jun, deputy director of the Operation and Inspection Department of Taizhou Power Supply Company, told reporters that the high reliability of power supply makes this "China Pharmaceutical City" uniquely attractive.

A world-class modern distribution network with high reliability, friendly interaction, and economic efficiency is an important symbol of a high-end power grid. In recent years, Jiangsu Electric Power has accelerated the construction of a world-class modern distribution network, gradually meeting the high-quality requirements of regional high-tech, high-value-added industries, and high-precision manufacturing enterprises, and continuously enhancing the grid's ability to adapt to the development of diversified loads such as distributed clean energy and power substitution.

On the evening of January 27 this year, a sudden snowstorm hit Wuxi, causing a power outage due to a sudden fault on the 10kV Cheng production line of the city's 110kV Jinkui substation. "Using the distribution automation system, we accurately located the fault point in less than half an hour and eliminated the fault. In the past, such a fault would take at least an hour and a half to locate," said Zhou Yunfeng, a repair commander of the fourth shift of the distribution room of Wuxi Power Supply Company.

The fault handling time is reduced from hours to minutes. In Jiangsu Power Grid, the coverage rate of such distribution automation system has reached 80%. The application of this technology effectively improves the accuracy and timeliness of fault location in the distribution network. With the promotion of new intelligent distribution transformer terminals, the low-voltage distribution network can also realize the active reporting of faults and actively and quickly carry out emergency repairs.

Behind the increasing flexibility, self-healing and interactivity of distribution network operation is the transformation of Jiangsu distribution network from passive control to active control and then to active management.

In Nanjing and Suzhou, the pilot construction of world-class urban distribution networks is bringing about more significant changes.

The Suzhou Active Distribution Network Comprehensive Demonstration Project located in Suzhou Industrial Park is one of the first pilot projects for the construction of active distribution networks in my country. Hejian Technology Co., Ltd. is a Taiwanese electronic information company in Suzhou Industrial Park. "With the active distribution network, the voltage drop of the medium-voltage distribution network in the company's area has been reduced from 15 times to 2 times per year, which has effectively improved the safety of the precision production line." The person in charge of the company told reporters. "By realizing the flexible consumption of high-proportion distributed energy, intelligent configuration of high-quality electric energy, coordinated control of network source, load and storage, and exploring new modes of DC power supply for distribution networks, the power supply reliability rate of the demonstration area will reach 6 '9', meeting customers' high requirements for power quality." said Xu Jinlong, deputy director of the Operation and Inspection Department of Suzhou Power Supply Company.

"Extending the smooth meridians to every developing body, Jiangsu Distribution Network pursues not only world-class technical indicators, but also a silent and effective user experience." said Chen Sheng, director of the Jiangsu Electric Power Operation and Inspection Department.
