International Solar Photovoltaic Network News: Chinese inverter company Sungrow announced that it will build a 3GW photovoltaic inverter manufacturing plant in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, India, to produce medium-sized inverters and string inverters. It is scheduled to be put into operation in the second half of 2018 and will become Sungrow's first overseas photovoltaic inverter factory.
According to the latest statistics from GTM Research, Sungrow's photovoltaic inverter shipments exceeded 16.5 GW last year, a year-on-year increase of 48%, ranking second in global inverter shipments. Sungrow's main markets for photovoltaic inverters include India, the United States, Europe, Japan and other Asia-Pacific regions.
India's Goods and Services Tax (GST) will make more international companies give priority to building factories in India.
