China Energy Storage Network News: On the 13th, the Global Energy Interconnection Development Cooperation Organization signed cooperation agreements with five international organizations, including the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, the African Union Commission, the League of Arab States, and the Grid Administration of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. It plans to deepen pragmatic cooperation in interconnected grid planning, basic research, policy coordination, project promotion, information sharing, etc., and jointly promote the development of the global energy internet and the construction of the "Belt and Road".
According to Xinhua News Agency on May 13, Liu Zhenya, chairman of the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization, said: "Signing an agreement with the United Nations and other international organizations will effectively promote the implementation of the Global Energy Interconnection in Asia, Africa and countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, and promote the integrated development of energy, information and transportation networks."
On September 26, 2015, my country proposed at the United Nations Development Summit to "explore the construction of a global energy internet and promote the use of clean and green methods to meet global electricity demand". In March 2016, the Global Energy Interconnection Development Cooperation Organization was established. This is the first international energy organization initiated by my country. Its purpose is to promote the construction of a global energy internet, meet global electricity demand in a clean and green way, promote the realization of the United Nations' goal of "sustainable energy for all" and address climate change, and serve the sustainable development of human society.
According to Liu Zhenya, the essence of the Global Energy Internet is "smart grid + UHV grid + clean energy", which is the basic platform for the large-scale development, transmission and use of clean energy on a global scale. Among them, the UHV grid composed of 1000 kV and above AC and ±800 kV and above DC can realize thousands of kilometers of power transmission and cross-border and cross-continental grid interconnection, which is the key to building the Global Energy Internet.
At present, key technologies such as UHV and smart grid are becoming more and more mature. my country has built 13 UHV projects with "six AC and seven DC" and is building 9 UHV projects with "two AC and seven DC", which can deliver more than 400 billion kWh of electricity annually.
