SMA and LG launch residential photovoltaic energy storage inverter

SMA and LG Chem have combined their award-winning technologies to create a new home storage solution that is said to help households save an average of 80 percent on their electricity bills.

This new residential battery inverter combines SMA's SunnyBoy inverter with LG's new RESU10H and 7H batteries. The new product will be launched first in Europe and Australia, equipped with 7kwh and 10kwh storage capacity. It can transform existing residential photovoltaic systems, and if customers need it, low-voltage variants of LG Chem storage units are also available for customers to choose. SunnyPlaces, an online portal developed by SMA, comes standard with battery inverters, allowing users to monitor the performance of their systems in a fully transparent manner and adjust their energy consumption habits in a timely manner to match the budget.

SMA said that this solution from SMA and LG is tailor-made for existing and new residential photovoltaic systems. LG Chem said that the new product will have a huge impact on the residential market in Europe and Australia, and it is expected that this new technology will become a stepping stone, "enabling more people around the world to use renewable energy at home."
