Recently, Huawei, China's leading inverter manufacturer and operation and maintenance system supplier, and Sunseap, Singapore's largest clean energy supplier, signed an agreement in Bangkok, Thailand, embarking on a strategic cooperation in the Southeast Asian photovoltaic market. Thailand is very suitable for the conclusion of this agreement because Thailand has become a hot spot in the solar energy industry.
As part of the agreement, Huawei will provide at least 300 MW of inverters for Sunseap's projects in Southeast Asia over the next three years. Huawei's FusionSolar Smart PV Solution is part of its inverter ICT technology, which can achieve higher production capacity, intelligent operation and maintenance (O&M), and safe management of PV power plants. According to a person familiar with Huawei, the Southeast Asian PV market is booming and is becoming an important market for Huawei. He added that the company will invest more resources to enter the Southeast Asian market to support its future business.
Sunseap has expansion plans in Thailand, the Philippines and Singapore. At the signing ceremony, Sunseap said the cooperation would be a win-win for both parties. Sunseap was founded in Singapore in 2011 and has an impressive development trajectory. It is currently the largest supplier of clean energy in Singapore.
