Huawei, a super private enterprise with an annual turnover of nearly 300 billion, has always been low-key and rarely defends itself, but it always stirs up a whirlwind in the industry, just like the eye of a typhoon, being at the center of the storm but almost always calm.

Huawei's greatest contributions to the photovoltaic industry are two-fold: first, it has brought the industry into the era of smart photovoltaics and promoted the flourishing of various technical schools in the inverter industry; second, from an overall perspective, it has given inverters more functions, integrated monitoring, operation and maintenance and other services around the inverter, and simplified user-side work as much as possible, which is "intelligence."

Huawei is not the first company to promote string inverters. As early as 2011, Danish industrial giant Danfoss had already set up in China, but failed due to various reasons. This also indirectly confirms the difficulty of promoting string inverters. However, Huawei took only one year to open up the market.

In the past two years, most new photovoltaic projects, no matter how remote, have the presence of Huawei sales teams. During the project construction, Huawei teams almost always follow up the whole process, and several leaders of Huawei's photovoltaic business unit are also on the road all year round. Huawei employees often work overtime until late at night. At the photovoltaic conference held by Huawei in Inner Mongolia this year with more than 800 people, the person in charge of the meeting told the author: "Yesterday there was a new idea, and a meeting was held at 12 o'clock in the middle of the night." "Busy until 12 o'clock?" "No, the meeting started."

"Behind greatness is suffering" - Romain Rolland. Huawei used this as the latest advertising slogan and added a picture of a slightly deformed ballet dancer's foot: "Except that we drink less coffee and work more, we actually have no advantages over others. It is because we started too late, our growth period is too short, and we have accumulated too little. We have to suffer more than others, so we have a ballet foot and a rotten foot. I think that is the Huawei people, who are in pain and happy. Huawei has such a rotten foot, and we don't show the society that our foot is still good. Our advertising is being done on a large scale around the world. It has just started to explain that we are going to the society and going to this thing." - Ren Zhengfei.

Huawei also brings a different way of thinking to the photovoltaic industry. The wisdom accumulated from traditional fields has enabled Huawei to launch a series of overall solutions centered around inverters and monitoring almost from the beginning, and has also made the industry begin to think that in addition to individual products, the overall system level considerations of power stations are equally important.

In the past year, data and operation and maintenance, smart photovoltaics, and power station life cycle management have become the development direction of the photovoltaic industry. There are many explorations and practices of predecessors, but it was Huawei that integrated and improved them and took the lead in launching the FusionSolar smart photovoltaic system and one-stop solution. Later, various inverter companies worked together to make power station owners recognize the core position of inverters in the photovoltaic power station system.

"Regarding the controversial issues in space-time physics, I dare not bet with my colleagues, because I am afraid that they are people from the future who have come through a wormhole and they know the standard answer very well." - Hawking.

Fifteen black technologies of Huawei's photovoltaic inverters We have talked too much about string type, so let's take a look at the technologies and strengths of Huawei's photovoltaic inverters that are rarely known to outsiders. Fifteen "black technologies" of Huawei in the field of photovoltaic inverters:

1. The largest unmanned logistics center in Asia, except for a few links, has mostly realized the concept of foreign industrial Internet of Things. It has three leading industrial production technologies: automation technology, barcode technology, and wireless radio frequency RF equipment to achieve paperless management.

2. The overall data collection accuracy of China's photovoltaic power plants is about 3%, while this figure is 0.5% at Huawei.

3. Remove vulnerable accessories, containers or inverter houses, and integrate everything into the inverter, as well as the intelligent photovoltaic terminal with a protection level of up to IP67. It is not limited to the highest industry standards and can be immersed in 1 meter deep water for half an hour without any harm, and is developed for the harsh application environment where the photovoltaic power station is located.

4. The most stringent quality certification test in the industry. We have our own 10-meter microwave darkroom electromagnetic compatibility test, accelerated life aging test, demanding comprehensive stress test integrating dust, temperature, humidity, and altitude, shocking rocket lightning test, and the only 15-level typhoon resistance test. The inverter is considered qualified only if it does not get wet in a typhoon, so it is naturally dust-proof.

5. Lean production and 6Sigma quality level: every screw is inspected by a machine and checked by two people; there has never been an error in the barcode link in eight years.

6. Send the orders that need to be signed directly to the company leaders, achieve paperless office, and evaluate the response time and work completion of the operation and maintenance team. The operation and maintenance team will no longer fall into the dilemma of "no problems, but the boss thinks that no work has been done".

7. The FusionSolar system can directly output the power generation of all power stations under a company. By comparing the estimated power generation, we can see the impact of components, weather, and operation and maintenance on the power station. The management system has added the concept of "operation", which allows investors to better analyze whether the company as an independent power provider (IPP) is "reliable".

8. PLC technology and 4GLTE wireless technology have replaced traditional RS485 and optical fiber. One small box can cover a range of ten kilometers without digging trenches. It can be called mobile Internet in the power station. This alone can save 2 cents per watt.

9. "0-Touch" operation and maintenance achieves true "human resource liberation".

10. Industry-leading cloud service hardware and operating platform, high-performance blade servers make cloud center management, big data storage, mining and analysis more reliable, stable and fast.

11. Huawei's KPI analysis system, with power station PR as the core, realizes quantitative evaluation of people, events (alarm processing, ticket processing, etc.), and equipment. Through 5 points and 4 sections, it conducts loss analysis layer by layer to find out the power station components and abnormal loss links, and actively analyzes and improves power generation.

12. The unique heat dissipation concept, combined with heat distribution design technology, thermal isolation, thermal shielding technology, etc., has achieved the goal of no external fan. The long-term stable application in the heavy dust of the northwest plateau and the strong corrosion environment of the Hainan seashore ensures the life of the device while improving the overall reliability and protection effect.

13. In the recent Jianheng China Efficiency Selection, the SUN2000-40KTL model stood out from the crowd and won the inverter championship with a "China efficiency" of 98.41%.

14. Retired Toyota experts come to the factory for inspection every month. Currently, the entire factory is highly automated and standardized. The most impressive thing is the automatic cargo robot that looks like the cleaning robot MO in "Wall-E". It automatically distributes raw materials in the workshop according to the magnetic induction lines, which makes people feel cute. However, the loud "Dream Water Village" used to remind employees to pay attention exposes the real age of the engineers.

15. With the most powerful global procurement channels, Huawei's component procurement costs are the lowest in the world.

16. While other companies are still studying how to sell their products, Huawei is already using big data to study how to increase customer stickiness. After Huawei proposed a fully connected world, photovoltaic inverters, after-sales service, and even the operation and maintenance center, big data will become the most valuable intangible assets of power stations in the future.
