The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine recently announced the results of the national supervision and random inspection of photovoltaic grid-connected inverters in the third quarter of 2015. The pass rate was 74.5%. A total of 14 batches of products did not meet the requirements of the standards. The main quality problems were concentrated in the rated input and output, harmonics and waveform distortion, power factor, DC component and over/under voltage protection items.
The reporter learned that this was the first national supervision and random inspection of photovoltaic grid-connected inverter products. 55 batches of products produced by 55 enterprises in 13 provinces (cities) were randomly inspected, and the detection rate of unqualified products was 25.5%. The focus was on inspecting 10 items including product protection connection, rated input and output, noise, conversion efficiency, harmonics and waveform distortion, power factor, DC component, over/under voltage protection (AC output side), operating overvoltage, and power frequency withstand voltage of solid insulation.
After inspection, a total of 14 batches of products were found to be unqualified, with the main quality problems concentrated in the rated input and output, harmonics and waveform distortion, power factor, DC component and over/undervoltage protection items. Among them, over/undervoltage protection was the most important unqualified item. Photovoltaic grid-connected inverter manufacturers are mainly concentrated in the four major regions of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, the Pearl River Delta, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Hubei, Henan and Anhui. This time, 13 batches of products were sampled in the concentrated production areas of Jiangsu and Guangdong, and the detection rates of unqualified products were 15.4% and 30.8% respectively.
