Recently, TUV SÜD Group (hereinafter referred to as TUV SUD) participated in the 11th China International Battery Technology Fair (CIBF 2014), and during the exhibition, successfully held a seminar with the theme of "Certification and Evaluation Technology", providing professional technical explanations and consulting services to exhibitors, buyers and industry guests, aiming to provide battery companies with authoritative testing and certification information, and provide professional opinions to promote the development of the battery industry.

Dr. Zhu Jing, Battery Product Department, TUV SUD

With the rapid development of the lithium-ion battery industry, lithium-ion batteries have become the main energy storage system in portable electronic devices, digital products, renewable energy generation/storage systems (including wind power generation, solar power generation, bioenergy generation), smart grid systems, and electric vehicles. The large-scale application of lithium-ion batteries has put forward higher requirements on the performance, safety and reliability of lithium-ion batteries. This seminar has received strong support from the China Chemical and Physical Power Industry Association, Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute and other institutions.

At the conference, TUV SUD discussed topics such as international certification for consumer batteries, the development of national standards for batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems, and overall solutions for photovoltaic power generation/energy storage systems, and answered questions from the audience one by one. Some experienced battery manufacturers mentioned that "authoritative professional third-party testing agencies can provide strong support for reducing product risks and improving brand recognition. This type of seminar can provide a bridge of communication between manufacturers and certification experts, help companies better avoid safety hazards, break through trade barriers, and provide a solid foundation for the healthy development of the industry."

As a world-leading testing and certification organization, TUV SUD currently owns the world's first CB laboratory qualified for secondary battery performance testing and the first CB laboratory in China qualified for secondary battery safety testing. It also has CTIA (IEEE 1725) accreditation and certification qualifications, allowing battery export manufacturers to obtain certifications from multiple countries such as EU TUV, EU GS, US CTIA, Russian GOST, Korean KC, Japanese PSE, and Thai TISI through this program, which helps companies avoid repeated testing to the greatest extent, saves time and money on certification, improves the competitive advantage of products, and lays a solid foundation for expanding international markets.
