National Semiconductor Corp. and Green Energy Solar (GESOLAR), a leading provider of solar photovoltaic modules and related services, announced that samples of the GESOLAR-branded series of smart solar photovoltaic modules are now available. This series of solar photovoltaic modules uses the NS3 junction box of HUBER+SUHNER, which features a built-in SolarMagic power optimizer chipset that has won many awards from National Semiconductor.

"Through this collaboration, we have successfully designed and developed the first smart solar PV module on the market, and the product is about to be mass-produced," said Michael Polacek, senior vice president of key markets and business development at National Semiconductor. "Now users can maximize the power generation of their PV system while ensuring cost-effectiveness by purchasing solar PV modules with built-in SolarMagic power optimizer."

GESOLAR solar photovoltaic modules are the industry's first smart solar system to apply for relevant certification, and TUV Rheinland is currently testing the safety and radiation of this solar photovoltaic module to ensure that this series of solar power generation systems not only complies with safety standards such as ANSI1703, IEC61730 and IEC61215, but also complies with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Section 15 Class A/B products (Part 15 Class A&B) and EN61000 regulations on electromagnetic radiation and anti-electromagnetic interference.

Mr. Stephen Tong, CEO of GESOLAR, said: "We are very pleased to have successfully launched the first intelligent solar PV module on the market. National Semiconductor's SolarMagic chipset provides power optimization functions for the new generation of GESOLAR solar PV modules, making this series of solar PV modules stand out from many competitive products."

For the GESOLAR solar system, even if some of the photovoltaic modules cannot fully perform due to environmental or mismatch problems, the SolarMagic power optimizer chipset of National Semiconductor can still maximize the power generation of each photovoltaic module. This technology uses advanced algorithms and excellent analog power management technology to increase the power generation of each photovoltaic module. According to field tests on the SolarMagic power optimizer chipset, even if the test site is shaded and the system is mismatched, the GESOLAR solar system can still recover an average of 50% of the lost power due to the use of the SolarMagic power optimizer chipset. In some cases, the system can even recover up to 75% of the lost power, which is significantly better than other solar systems.
