The 13.98-meter solar houseboat designed and built by Weihai Zhongfu Xigang Boat Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China National Building Materials Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as China National Building Materials), was officially delivered in mid-September. The ship is the first truly all-solar houseboat in China, mainly used for business negotiations, living and other activities. The power and all the electricity for daily use of the ship are all from solar and wind power generation. The designed speed is 5 knots, and it attracted many professional visitors at the 2011 Tianjin Binhai International Yacht and Famous Products Exhibition and Trade Conference.

Solar energy and wind energy are important renewable resources. They are abundant, widely distributed, and do not pollute the environment. Their development and utilization can not only solve the problem of energy shortage, but also solve the environmental pollution problems related to energy utilization, and promote the sustainable development of society and economy. In recent years, Zhongfuxi Port has been committed to the design and development of environmentally friendly ships, applying these two resources to ship technology, providing a relatively independent energy source for onboard facilities.

The boat adopts vacuum resin infusion molding technology and uses high-performance composite felt, multi-axial braid and other reinforcing materials to meet the mechanical performance and process requirements of the boat structure. Through "material, structure and layer integrated design", it achieves the goal of reducing weight by 30% compared with the same type of fiberglass boat.

In terms of electric drive, flexible solar cells are introduced to replace some polycrystalline silicon solar cells when designing the ship because of their large curvature, novel appearance, and ability to expand the laying area of solar panels. In order to achieve all-weather solar powered navigation for large ships, energy storage devices are used. The devices can store electricity converted from solar energy to achieve all-weather, high-power ship power supply, effectively overcoming the shortcomings of low solar energy density and time and regional restrictions.

Compared with similar domestic technologies, this solar composite material ship has the advantages of high energy conversion efficiency, low manufacturing cost and low noise in the cabin.

Solar energy will surely become a new trend in the yacht industry. As the technology of the ship industry becomes increasingly high-end, replacing traditional power ships with renewable resources has become a market with great potential. The successful development of solar composite boats has reduced energy consumption, changed the various drawbacks of traditional technology such as noise and pollution, solved the technical bottleneck of the yacht industry, improved the overall competitiveness of my country's composite boat manufacturing, strengthened my country's national economic strength, improved the overall level of the industry and the international competitiveness of its products, optimized the industrial structure, and ensured the sustainable development of my country's composite boat industry.

The development and application of this project has pushed Zhongfuxigang to a new stage of development. The company will seize the opportunity to increase investment in science and technology, continuously research and develop new products, continuously consolidate the company's industry position, and make the Zhongfuxigang brand bigger and stronger.
