Since the solar insecticidal lamps were installed and used in Qingyuan County in July, the insecticidal effect has been fully demonstrated. According to observations and surveys at the Wugongshan Chestnut Park in Huangsha Village, Hedi Town, 5 solar insecticidal lamps killed 2,487 grams of pests in 5 days, with an average of 99.5 grams of pests killed per lamp per day, and the number of insects of all sizes was about 1,500. Among the insects killed, there were larger coleoptera, such as weevils, longhorn beetles, and scarabs, as well as smaller dipteran gall midges. In terms of quantity, adult Lepidoptera accounted for more than 85%. The largest number of pests killed occurred from late July to early August, and the number of pests killed gradually decreased from mid-August.
Solar insecticidal lamps have the characteristics of automatic switching, good insecticidal effect, and long service life. The most important thing is that there is no pesticide residue, ensuring the green and environmental protection of agricultural products, truly realizing pollution-free prevention and control, and ultimately achieving the dual goals of both pest control and environmental protection.
