On September 1, at Zaozhuang Vocational College of Science and Technology, Han Yuyong, a teacher who had just returned from the college with great success, and Zhao Qiangqiang, a student, demonstrated a solar pneumatic car that uses a hybrid power of solar energy, compressed air and batteries to convert sunlight directly into electricity. The car weighs 500 kilograms and can carry 4 people. It is not only energy-saving, but also has zero emissions and can be used on rainy days.
This invention won the gold medal in the 8th Shandong University Students' Mechanical and Electrical Product Innovation Design Competition which ended on August 25. The other three entries - a dual-electric mobile insect spray car, an intelligent electric fan, and a battery detection and repair instrument - won bronze medals.
It is reported that the 8th Shandong University Student Mechanical and Electrical Product Innovation Design Competition was hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education and held at Weifang University of Science and Technology. It aims to promote the innovation and practice activities of university students around the theme of "energy saving, low carbon, green and healthy" and in combination with the actual needs of enterprise development. A total of 73 colleges and universities in the province participated in this competition, with 2,563 works participating in the preliminary round and more than 13,000 teachers and students participating.
Talking about the solar pneumatic car that won the gold medal in this competition, Han Yuyong, the instructor of Zaozhuang Vocational College of Science and Technology, introduced that this is a product jointly developed by four students of the college, Zhao Qiangqiang, Jiang Xianqing, Gao Bo, Wang Ping, etc. In order to create a good environment, the college has set up a "College Student Science and Technology Innovation Room". In order not to delay their daytime studies, they study in the evening and work overtime after school every day. After more than 4 months of hard work, the solar pneumatic car was finally successfully developed. Zhao Qiangqiang said with deep emotion: "The successful development of the solar pneumatic car and the award in the competition are due to the training of the college and the guidance of the teachers. In the next step, we must continue our efforts and strive to invent better works to bring glory to the college and add color to our hometown."
