On July 18, the Urumqi National Photovoltaic Power Generation Equipment High-tech Industrialization Base was launched in the Urumqi High-tech Zone. It is estimated that by 2015, the construction investment will be about 4.5 billion yuan, and the photovoltaic equipment manufacturing industry in the high-tech zone will achieve an industrial output value of 20 billion yuan, creating more than 10,000 jobs.
It is understood that over the past 10 years, the photovoltaic industry in the High-tech Zone has begun to take shape, forming a solar photovoltaic power generation application industry cluster integrating research, production, construction and after-sales service, and has initially completed the construction of a complete photovoltaic industry chain. Among them, more than 95% of the photovoltaic power generation equipment industry is concentrated in the High-tech Zone.
Chen Ji, director of the High-tech Zone Management Committee, introduced that it is expected that by 2015, the photovoltaic equipment manufacturing industry in the High-tech Zone will achieve an industrial output value of 20 billion yuan, accounting for more than 30% of the total industrial output value of the High-tech Zone. It will cultivate one enterprise with an output value of over 10 billion yuan, 2 to 3 enterprises with an output value of over 5 billion yuan, 4 to 6 supporting enterprises with a strong correlation with the photovoltaic power generation industry, and establish a domestic leading photovoltaic scientific research institute and corporate R&D institution.
Up to now, in the High-tech Industrialization Base of Photovoltaic Power Generation Equipment Manufacturing in the High-tech Zone, the first phase of the 12,000-ton polysilicon project with a capacity of 1,500 tons has been completed and put into production, and the second phase with a capacity of 3,000 tons is in the basic construction process.
At the unveiling ceremony, Xiu Xiaoping, deputy director of the Torch Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, said that the base will play an important role in promoting the comprehensive improvement of the independent innovation capability of Xinjiang's photovoltaic industry, gathering innovative factors and resources, accelerating the industrialization of high-tech achievements, further playing the role of scientific and technological support, and radiating to drive the sound and rapid development of the regional economy.
Erkenjiang Tulahong, member of the Standing Committee of the Autonomous Region Party Committee, unveiled the base.
