Applied Materials, the world's largest supplier of semiconductor chip, flat panel display and solar photovoltaic industry manufacturing equipment, recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group, a leading Chinese new energy company, to accelerate the development and deployment of solar photovoltaic power generation technology.

China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group plans to build a 5 MW solar power station in Inner Mongolia. The project will use 5.7 square meters of large-size thin-film cells, which will be produced by ENN Solar Energy Co., Ltd. using the SunFab production line of Applied Materials, Inc. of the United States. This is currently China's largest amorphous silicon thin-film battery power generation project.
