I have always used IAR to write stm8 programs, and have never used the official IDE of st.
Later I heard that the code compiled by Cosmic is better than IAR optimization, so I decided to try stvd+Cosmic.
System environment: w7 x64
The configuration process is also relatively simple
First download a Cosmic for stm8, the official one has a free 32k one.
Then open STVD and find Tools->Options
After opening, find the Toolset card item
Select the installation directory of Cosmic for stm8 and confirm
After making your selection, a warning will pop up, just click OK.
That's it. The basic setup is complete.
Next, create a project to verify it.
New Construction
Choose Create Workspace and Project
Specify the workspace name and location
Toolchain selection STM8 Cosmic
Select the stm8 model, I use stm8s103f3 here
The project has been built and you can see a main.c and a stm8_interrupt_vector.c
Compile
0 Errors 0 Warnings
success
